  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Quality start against Miami

Bibee (3-9) earned the win against the Marlins on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and four walks while striking out three across 6.2 innings. Bibee allowed two baserunners in both the first and third inning, but he managed to keep the Marlins off the board through six frames. He was brought back out for the seventh and was tagged with a run on a Liam Hicks single, but it was the only run that Bibee and the Guardians' bullpen allowed in Saturday's win. It was Bibee's first win since June 12 and his 11th quality start of the season, three of which have come over his last four outings. He'll enter the All-Star break with a 3.90 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 87:34 K:BB across 113 innings this season.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Plagued by long ball Sunday

Bibee took a no-decision Sunday against the White Sox, allowing six runs on six hits and one walk in four innings. He struck out one. Bibee was crushed by hard contact, serving up at least three home runs for the third time already this year. The 27-year-old right-hander also established a season low in strikeouts, as Sunday's showing is particularly discouraging after he turned in a quality start in five of his last six outings. Bibee is set to carry a 4.06 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 84:30 K:BB over 106.1 innings into a tough road assignment in Miami.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Credits sinker for turnaround

Bibee mentioned the greater use of his sinker as the main reason for his recent turnaround, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. "It just feels like a real weapon, where I can really lean on it to get quick outs," the right-hander said Friday. "Or I still can have guys freeze on it... It opens up a lot of stuff." Bibee, who is Sunday's scheduled starter against the White Sox, changed up his pitch mix following a disastrous outing against the Nationals on May 25, when he gave up seven runs and five home runs over three innings. In the six starts since then, he's made throwing the sinker a priority, using it 37.2 percent of the time, and the change has resulted in a 2.29 ERA, 0.79 WHIP and 28:8 K:BB over 39.1 innings. The sinker has also made his four-seamer and cutter more effective, as his opponents' batting average and hard-hit rates have dropped against each pitch. What would really help Bibee, who is 2-9 over 18 starts, is more help from his teammates; his 2.78 runs of support ranks 133rd out of 136 pitchers with at least 10 starts.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Stuck with loss in quality start

Bibee (2-9) took the loss Tuesday as the Guardians fell 4-2 to the Rangers, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits over seven innings. He struck out two without walking a batter. The right-hander lasted seven innings for the third time in five June outings en route to his 10th quality start of the season, but Bibee got victimized by a mental error in left field from rookie Cooper Ingle -- with a runner on second and one out, Ingle caught a routine flyball that he thought was the final out of the seventh inning. When he threw the ball to a fan, Ezequiel Duran was able to dash home for the game-winning run. Bibee finishes with a 1.89 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 23:7 K:BB over 33.1 innings in June, and he's lined up for a home matchup this weekend against the White Sox.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Blanks ChiSox in no-decision

Bibee didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the White Sox, allowing three hits and a walk over six scoreless innings. He struck out three. The right-hander overcame a 160-minute rain delay before the first pitch to put together one of his best outings of the season, but Bibee saw his third win slip away when Cade Smith suffered a rare blown save in the ninth inning. Bibee tossed 58 of 89 pitches for strikes as he produced his ninth quality start of the season, and over four trips to the mound in June he's delivered a 1.71 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 21:7 K:BB over 26.1 innings. Bibee will look to stay locked in for his next trip to the mound, which is set to come at home early next week against the Rangers.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Picks up second win

Bibee (2-7) earned the win Friday against Detroit, giving up two earned runs on two hits and two walks while striking out eight batters across seven innings. Bibee gave up solo homers to James Outman and Spencer Torkelson, but those ended up being the only hits he would allow en route to collecting his second consecutive win. The 27-year-old righty has now tallied six quality starts in his last seven outings and put up a 3.43 ERA and 0.92 WHIP across 44.2 innings in that span. He'll look to keep building on the momentum he's gained during his next outing on the road against the Brewers.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Finally logs first victory

Bibee (1-7) earned the win over Texas on Saturday, tossing eight scoreless innings during which he allowed three hits and issued two walks while striking out three batters. Bibee had gone winless over 13 starts entering Saturday, though he had recorded six quality starts and had held the opponent to one or zero runs on six different occasions. He took matters into his own hands against the Rangers, tying a season high with eight innings and holding Texas to no runs or extra-base hits. Bibee probably could have completed the game himself -- he was pulled after throwing just 87 pitches -- but regardless, his performance was more than good enough to earn him his first victory of the campaign. The right-hander will look to build upon this performance moving forward, and he's lined up for a favorable matchup at home against Detroit for his next start.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Rocked for five homers Monday

Bibee (0-7) took the loss Monday against the Nationals, allowing seven runs on eight hits while striking out three over three innings. Bibee's search for his first win of the season took a rough turn Monday, as he surrendered a career-high five home runs, which accounted for all seven runs he allowed. The right-hander had done a solid job limiting the long ball entering the outing, giving up only four homers total across his previous 10 starts. Prior to this blowup, Bibee had posted a strong 2.59 ERA over his last seven outings while allowing two or fewer runs in all but two of them. He now owns a 4.57 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 55:21 K:BB across 63 innings and will once again look for his first win of 2026 in his next scheduled start against Boston.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Stellar in no-decision

Bibee did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the Tigers, allowing one run on four hits and a walk across eight innings. He struck out five. Bibee was excellent Wednesday, holding the Tigers scoreless through six innings before allowing a lone run in the seventh. However, Bibee would remain winless on the season, as the Guardians' offense failed to break through until the ninth. Bibee has turned in quality starts in five of his last seven outings, though he's gone 0-4 in that span despite posting a 2.59 ERA. Bibee will carry a 3.75 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 52:21 K:BB into his next outing, currently scheduled to come at home against the Nationals.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Takes loss despite quality start

Bibee (0-6) took the loss against the Reds on Friday, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out two across 6.2 innings. Bibee put the Guardians on the back foot early by allowing two runs in the second inning. He allowed just one run the rest of the way and came away with his fourth quality start of the season, but Bibee was still tagged with the loss and is still searching for his first win of 2026. He'll take a 4.15 ERA and 1.35 WHIP (across 52 innings) into his next start, which is slated for next week on the road against the Marlins.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Shakes off early homer in gem

Bibee didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Twins, allowing one run on one hit and two walks in six innings. He struck out nine. Byron Buxton led off the game Saturday with a homer off Bibee, but that was essentially all the Twins mustered against the hurler. Bibee was nearly flawless thereafter, issuing only a pair of free passes en route to registering a whopping 20 whiffs and fanning a season-high nine, though he was unable to pick up his first win of the season. He'll look to further improve on a 4.17 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 45:18 K:BB over 45.1 innings in his next start, which is slated to come versus the Reds.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Remains winless in poor showing

Bibee (0-5) took the loss Monday against the Royals, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks in four innings. He struck out four. The 27-year-old right-hander gave up his second-most runs of the season Monday, also matching a season low in innings. Bibee has just two quality starts under his belt in 2026, and he's now walked multiple batters in six of his first eight outings. Bibee is still recovering from an eight-run implosion in Atlanta during his April 12 appearance, which has left with him a shaky 4.58 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 36:16 K:BB over 39.1 innings, and he'll try to get back on track this weekend against the Twins.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Gets little help in Tuesday's loss

Bibee (0-4) was stuck with the loss Tuesday as the Guardians fell 1-0 to the Rays, allowing one run on four hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out six. The right-hander tossed an inefficient 93 pitches (59 strikes) before being lifted, but Bibee kept the damage to a minimum. While he's winless on the season, his record owes more to a lack of run support than his own performance -- Cleveland has averaged a meager 2.0 runs per game in his seven starts and has been shut out in his last two trips to the mound. Bibee will take a 4.08 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 32:14 K:BB through 35.1 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road early next week in Kansas City.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Takes loss against Dodgers

Bibee (0-1) allowed one run on four hits and two walks while striking out four batters over four innings in a loss to the Dodgers on Tuesday. Bibee had to be pulled from his first start last Thursday against Seattle due to a shoulder issue, but the injury didn't prove to be serious, and the right-hander was able to take his normal turn in the rotation Tuesday. He didn't pitch poorly, but he also wasn't efficient, needing 74 pitches to get through four frames. Bibee kept Los Angeles out of the scoring column until there were two outs in his final inning, but an Andy Pages single produced a run and was ultimately responsible for the hurler ending up with the loss. Bibee said after the game that he didn't have any issues with his shoulder, per Mason Horodyski of News 5 Cleveland, so he should be fine to make his next start, which lines up to come at home against Kansas City.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Leaves with shoulder inflammation

Bibee exited Thursday's start against the Mariners with right shoulder inflammation, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. Bibee was in discomfort while warming up ahead of the bottom of the sixth inning and walked off with the training staff. The right-hander will likely undergo further testing in the coming days. Prior to leaving Thursday, Bibee allowed three runs on four hits and two walks across five innings. He struck out seven and gave up three solo home runs. It's unclear if Bibee will be able to make his next scheduled start against the Dodgers next week.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Exits with training staff

Bibee exited Thursday's start against the Mariners ahead of the bottom of the sixth inning after suffering an apparent injury, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. Bibee finished throwing his warmup pitches between innings and winced in discomfort before ultimately walking off with the training staff. Prior to leaving, Bibee allowed three runs on four hits and two walks across five innings. He struck out seven and surrendered a trio of solo home runs on 78 pitches. Bibee's status should be updated in the near future as he continues to be evaluated.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Makes final spring start

Bibee allowed eight runs on 10 hits while striking out three over 4.2 innings in Saturday's spring start against San Francisco. Bibee retired the first six batters faced before running into the trouble the rest of the way. He allowed two home runs Saturday and five over his final two Cactus League starts. The right-hander upped his pitch count to 70 (49 strikes) in advance of his Opening Day start at Seattle.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Receiving Opening Day nod

The Guardians named Bibee as their starter for Opening Day against the Mariners on Thursday, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports. It'll be the first Opening Day start for Bibee, who was scheduled to do so last season before being a late scratch due to an illness. The right-hander is coming off an up-and-down 2024 campaign during which he posted a 4.24 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 162:54 K:BB across 182.1 regular-season innings. Now entering his age-27 campaign, Bibee will look to regain the form that resulted in a 3.25 ERA and 1.14 WHIP across his first two MLB seasons in 2023 and 2024.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Holds Tigers to one run in Game 2

Bibee yielded one run on five hits and three walks over 4.2 frames Wednesday, taking a no-decision in a win over the Tigers in Game 2 of the American League Wild Card Series. He struck out six. Bibee had to pitch out of a jam right away, with the first two batters of the game reaching on a single and an error. He was up to the challenge, fanning the next three hitters. He permitted one run in the fourth on a Javier Baez RBI single and was spared from being charged with another when Zach McKinstry ran into an out on the bases. Bibee was unable to get through the fifth inning after issuing a two-out walk to put a second runner on, but the Guardians' bullpen then shut things down the rest of the way in a 6-1 win. The righty was trending in the right direction late in the regular season with a 1.30 ERA in September, and he kept it going in his first outing of the postseason.

  • Guardians' Tanner Bibee: Wins third straight

Bibee (12-11) picked up the win in Wednesday's 5-1 victory over the Tigers, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out five. The right-hander extended his win streak to three starts and his quality-start streak to four with another sharp performance, tossing 63 of 105 pitches for strikes. Bibee's produced a 1.30 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 26:5 K:BB through 27.2 September innings, helping the Guardians make history by overcoming a 15.5-game deficit and catching the Tigers in the AL Central -- they now sit one game up with four to play. Unless he's needed this weekend to help clinch a playoff spot, Bibee will put his 2025 regular season in the books with a 4.24 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 162:54 K:BB through 182.1 innings.
