Heim isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Athletics.

Heim has been alternating starts with Kyle Higashioka over the past several days, and Tuesday marks the latter's turn to start behind the dish.

Santander is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros.

Santander will head to the bench Tuesday after starting the first 23 games of the season for Toronto. The veteran outfielder has yet to get on track at the plate with a .569 OPS in 102 plate appearances, and he's especially struggled over the past four contests (1-for-15). Vladimir Guerrero will get a turn at designated hitter while Will Wagner makes a start at first base.

Muncy isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers.

Muncy went 2-for-7 with a walk during the Athletics' previous series against Milwaukee, and he'll now take a seat for the first of three games versus Texas. His absence will allow Luis Urias to pick up a start at second base and bat ninth.

Rengifo isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates after getting a root canal Monday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Rengifo has been cleared to play and may still be available off the bench Tuesday, though the Angels may look to give him a day off after going 1-for-12 against the Giants over the weekend. Kevin Newman will take over at third base and bat ninth Tuesday.

Ort (oblique) will make one more rehab appearance Wednesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Ort has already appeared in five games during his rehab assignment, during which he's allowed three runs (two earned) while striking out four batters and walking three across 4.1 innings. The Astros will now get him one final tune-up before he joins the active roster for the team's weekend series against Kansas City. Once he returns, the 33-year-old righty is likely to work in middle relief.

Vargas is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins.

Vargas started the previous three games and will head to the bench Tuesday while in the midst of a 4-for-40 slump. Bobby Dalbec will receive a start at third base and bat eighth in the series opener.

Stanton (elbows) took batting practice on the field Tuesday, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.

It appears to be the first time he's taken on-field batting practice since he required three rounds of platelet-rich plasma injections to address torn tendons in both of his elbows. Stanton will eventually need a rehab assignment, and it's not clear when he might be ready for that.

Lewis (hamstring) did some sprints Monday and ran the bases again Tuesday, Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

Lewis is coming along well in his recovery from a left hamstring strain and would appear close to a rehab assignment, although the Twins haven't revealed a timetable for that yet. He's been sidelined since mid-March, so Lewis will likely require more than just a few rehab games.

Perez (back) has yet to resume baseball activities, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Perez is still in the recovery process after being given a pair of cortisone shots to combat lumbar spine inflammation. He's already been moved to the 60-day injured list, and it's not clear when he'll be ready to begin baseball activities.

Brieske (ankle) began a throwing program Tuesday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Brieske landed on the 15-day injured list last Friday with right ankle inflammation but is ready to start ramping things up. The reliever is eligible to return in early May.
