The Royals optioned Bowlan to Triple-A Omaha on Thursday.

Bowlan was up as the 27th man for Thursday's doubleheader against the Rockies but didn't make an appearance. He's permitted four runs with a 12:5 K:BB over 12 innings at Omaha this season.

Rocchio is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Red Sox.

The absence ends a stretch of five consecutive starts for Rocchio, who went 3-for-15 with a stolen base, three runs and one RBI during that stretch. Gabriel Arias will move to shortstop while Daniel Schneemann receives a start at the keystone.

Armbruester underwent right lat surgery Friday, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

The Orioles have not provided a timetable for the right-hander, but it's possible the surgery ends his 2025 season. Armbruester moved to the bullpen at Triple-A Norfolk this season and had allowed two unearned runs with a 7:3 K:BB over 5.2 frames.

The Tigers recalled Guenther from Triple-A Toledo on Friday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

He's absorbing the roster spot vacated by Bailey Horn, who was optioned to Toledo on Thursday. Guenther got a late start to the season due to lumbar spine inflammation, but he's being summoned after allowing three runs over his first 3.1 innings in the minors.

Grisham is leading off Friday against the Blue Jays, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.

Grisham led off Sunday against a righty and was on the paternity list for the last three games, but he's right back atop the lineup against righty Jose Berrios. Jasson Dominguez is out of the lineup. Grisham is hitting .320/.393/.700 with six home runs in 56 plate appearances and has now started in the last four games he has been available.

Brito will be sidelined 8-to-12 weeks after having surgery Friday to repair a high-grade ligament sprain in his right thumb, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Brito suffered the injury last week while sliding into a base at Triple-A Columbus. The 23-year-old infielder had been off to a nice start this season with Columbus, slashing .291/.406/.491 with two home runs, four steals and a 10:11 K:BB.

Dominguez is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Blue Jays.

The rookie outfielder started the previous five games and will receive Friday off after going 4-for-19 with a homer, a double and eight strikeouts during that stretch. Cody Bellinger will shift to left field in place of Dominguez while Trent Grisham starts in center and bats leadoff.

The Twins outrighted Cartaya to Triple-A St. Paul on Friday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster. Cartaya was acquired via trade from the Dodgers over the offseason and is just 2-for-25 with an 18:4 K:BB in his first 29 plate appearances with St. Paul this season.

Rogers (knee) made his first minor-league rehab start Wednesday, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out three in three innings for Double-A Chesapeake.

Working his way back from a right knee subluxation, Rogers showed some signs of rust but did throw 44 pitches in his return to game action. The left-hander figures to need somewhere in the neighborhood of four or five rehab outings to build up his pitch count. While he's not guaranteed to occupy a rotation spot for the Orioles once he's deemed ready to return, the team does rank last in the majors in ERA (5.25) and batting average against (.291) and could use some help.

The Twins activated Lopez (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list Friday.

Lopez will make his return to the Twins' rotation Friday against the Angels after missing the past two weeks with a right hamstring strain. He made one rehab start with Triple-A St. Paul this past Saturday, going 4.2 innings and throwing 63 pitches. Lopez hasn't reached the 80-pitch mark since April 2 versus the White Sox, so his workload could be limited Friday.
