  • Mariners' Troy Taylor: Optioned to Triple-A

The Mariners optioned Taylor to Triple-A Tacoma on Friday. Taylor entered spring training competing for a depth spot in the Mariners' bullpen but will open the 2026 season in Triple-A. He spent most of the 2025 season in the minors but did appear in eight regular-season games for Seattle, though he posted a 12.15 ERA and 2.55 WHIP over 6.2 innings. Taylor should get a call up to the majors when the Mariners need an extra arm out of the bullpen.

  • Mariners' Troy Taylor: Heading to Triple-A

The Mariners optioned Taylor to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday. He's clearing out to make space on the roster for the return of George Kirby (shoulder), who was activated from the 15-day injured list in advance of his start Thursday in Houston. Taylor has failed this season to build upon his 2024 success, allowing nine runs with a 2:3 K:BB over 6.2 innings thus far.

  • Mariners' Troy Taylor: Rejoins big-league bullpen

The Mariners recalled Taylor from Triple-A Tacoma on Friday. Taylor has pitched well over his last seven outings between Tacoma and Seattle, allowing one run with a 9:1 K:BB over seven innings. He'll fill a middle relief role with the Mariners.

  • Mariners' Troy Taylor: Moved to Tacoma

The Mariners optioned Taylor to Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday. With Matt Brash (elbow) returning from the injured list, Taylor will head back to the minors in order to create room on the active roster. The 23-year-old righty has struggled mightily this season, giving up four earned runs in three MLB innings while also posting a 10.13 ERA in the minors.

  • Mariners' Troy Taylor: Optioned to Triple-A

The Mariners optioned Taylor to Triple-A Tacoma on Friday. Taylor started the season on the 15-day injured list due to a right lat strain he suffered in spring training. He was activated from the IL on Monday, but in his 2025 debut against the Reds on Wednesday he allowed three runs on three hits while failing to record an out. Taylor could get a call back up to the majors when the Mariners need right-handed depth out of the bullpen. Seattle selected the contract of Casey Lawrence from Tacoma in a corresponding move.

  • Mariners' Troy Taylor: Nearing return

Taylor (lat) will make another rehab appearance with Triple-A Tacoma later this week before being evaluated for a potential return to the Mariners' bullpen, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports. Taylor has already made two appearances with Tacoma, allowing two runs with a 2:0 K:BB over 1.2 innings. If he gets through his next rehab outing without any hiccups he could be ready to rejoin the active roster for the weekend series against the Rangers. Taylor has been working his way back from a right lat strain.

  • Mariners' Troy Taylor: Due for rehab assignment soon

Taylor (lat) was spotted playing catch Sunday and is expected to begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Tacoma this week, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports. Seattle placed Taylor on the 15-day injured list Thursday due to a right lat strain, which he suffered in late January while going through his offseason throwing program. While Taylor wasn't able to return to game action before the end of spring training, he looks like he'll be ready to head to the minors in the coming days. Taylor will be eligible to come off the IL on April 8.

  • Mariners' Troy Taylor: Secures first save

Taylor allowed a hit and struck out two in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Friday's 2-0 win over the Athletics. It hasn't taken Taylor long to work his way into a high-leverage role. While he's been shaky at times, allowing five runs over his last nine innings, he has a save and six holds in that span. For the season, Taylor has a 2.95 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 23:7 K:BB across 18.1 innings in the majors. He collected 21 saves in 40 appearances between High-A Everett and Double-A Arkansas prior to his promotion to the majors this year, so it's possible the Mariners view him as a future closing option.
