Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that Stroman (knee) will throw a bullpen session Monday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

It's finally a notable step forward in Stroman's recovery from left knee inflammation, as this will be his first time throwing off the bump since he went on the 15-day injured list in mid-April. He's surely require a rehab assignment and it's unclear when Stroman might be ready to pitch in games.

Benintendi (calf) is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Kansas City.

Benintendi was forced to leave Sunday's affair against the Astros due to left calf tightness, so it's not a surprise he's absent from the lineup a day later. He is considered day-to-day for the time being. Michael Taylor is in left field and batting eighth in the series opener Monday.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Monday that second base is "more in play" than third base for LeMahieu (calf/hip) when LeMahieu returns from the 10-day injured list, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

The Yankees have more of a need now at second base, at least in the short term, with Jazz Chisholm (oblique) expected to be sidelined until June. LeMahieu briefly paused a rehab assignment at Double-A Somerset last week when he developed a hip issue in addition to his calf injury, but he returned to action over the weekend. All six of LeMahieu's starts so far for Somerset have come at second base. Jorbit Vivas is starting at the keystone Monday for the third time in four games, but he could be sent back to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre when LeMahieu returns. LeMahieu is expected to require "not too many more" rehab games before being activated, Boone said Monday.

Rogers (knee) made his third minor-league rehab start Sunday for Triple-A Norfolk, allowing three runs on four hits and no walks with four strikeouts over three innings, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Rogers continues to struggle in the minors, producing a 10.57 ERA, 2.09 WHIP and .364 opponent batting average over 7.2 innings during his assignment. A right knee subluxation prevented the left-hander from participating in spring training, but he was able to build up to 61 pitches Sunday and could become an option for the Orioles sometime in mid-to-late May. However, Rogers will likely need to sharpen up his mechanics before the major-league club considers him a realistic possibility, as he also limped to a 7.11 ERA, 1.84 WHIP and 12:10 K:BB across 19 regular-season innings after landing in Baltimore at last year's trade deadline.

Kittredge (knee) started a minor-league rehab assignment with High-A Aberdeen on Sunday, allowing one run on two hits and no walks with two strikeouts in one inning, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Kittredge threw 14 pitches, and he wasn't sharp in his first rehab appearance. Left knee surgery limited the veteran right-hander to a lone outing during spring training, but he's now tracking toward making his season debut for the Orioles at some point in late May following several outings in the minors. Once he's reinstated from the injured list, Kittredge figures to be eased in as a middle reliever initially before eventually working alongside Yennier Cano and Seranthony Dominguez as one of Baltimore's right-handed setup men behind closer Felix Bautista.

The Astros placed Alvarez on the 10-day injured list Monday with right hand inflammation, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Alvarez had missed the previous two games with the injury, and while manager Joe Espada had indicated imaging on Alvarez's hand wouldn't be necessary, the designed hitter is now on his way back to Houston to have the hand checked out. The 27-year-old Alvarez dealt with nagging right hand inflammation a couple years ago, but it's not clear whether this latest injury is viewed as a recurrence. Jose Altuve will serve as the designated hitter for the Astros on Monday in Milwaukee, and Yainer Diaz and/or Zach Dezenzo will also likely see increased action at DH while Alvarez is out.

Cole (elbow) said that he plans to begin a throwing program in August, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.

Cole spoke to the media Monday for the first time since March, when he underwent UCL reconstructive surgery on his right elbow. The procedure included an internal brace, which he had removed two and a half weeks ago, per Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com. The 34-year-old will resume throwing six months post-surgery, but it's not clear if he'll be able to advance to mound work by the time the 2025 season concludes. Cole acknowledged that he doesn't yet have a target date in mind for when he might be ready to pitch next season, and a timeline for his 2026 debut may not come into focus until next spring.

The Astros recalled Salazar from Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Salazar's presence could allow Yainer Diaz and/or Victor Caratini to serve as the designated hitter on occasion while Yordan Alvarez (hand) is on the 10-day injured list. The 29-year-old Salazar has hit only .197/.305/.310 in his first 21 games this season with Sugar Land.

The Rangers will recall Carter from Triple-A Round Rock prior to Tuesday's game in Boston, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Carter failed to earn an Opening Day roster spot and got off to a sluggish start with Round Rock, but he had begun to heat up in his last 12 games, slashing .271/.327/.500 with two home runs and three stolen bases. With Leody Taveras on outright waivers and Josh Smith a better fit as a super-utility player, Carter should get an opportunity to be the Rangers' primary center fielder, at least against right-handed pitching. Texas is tentatively scheduled to face all righties this week.

Noel is not in the lineup for Monday's game versus the Nationals.

Noel has now been on the bench for consecutive games after starting five of the previous six contests. Nolan Jones is in right field and batting eighth for the Guardians on Monday.
