Waters isn't part of the starting nine for Monday's game against the Reds.

Waters is slated to see more action in right field due to the departures of Hunter Renfroe and Cavan Biggio, but he won't draw the start Monday. The recently recalled John Rave will make his MLB debut and man right field in place of Waters.

Fermin drew four consecutive starts behind the dish, but he'll get the day off Monday while Salvador Perez catches. Fermin has a four-game hit streak, and he's doubled twice during that stretch.

Isbel (illness) is batting ninth and playing center field Monday against the Reds.

Isbel missed the Royals' last two games due to illness, but he's feeling well enough to take the field Monday. He's slashing .276/.281/.431 with three homers in 133 plate appearances this season.

India (illness) is leading off and playing DH in Monday's game against the Reds.

India was scratched from Sunday's contest due to illness, but he's back in the starting nine Monday. Michael Massey will hold down second base while India serves as the Royals' DH.

The Royals selected Rave's contract from Triple-A Omaha on Monday.

Rave will make his MLB debut if he gets into a game, and it's a well-deserved promotion for the 27-year-old who slashed .301/.382/.549 with nine home runs and 17 stolen bases in 202 plate appearances with Omaha this season. Rave has mostly played center field in 2025, but has some experience playing in the corners. The move comes just days after right fielder Hunter Renfroe was DFA'd, though it's more likely Rave will be a depth piece in center field while Drew Waters and Mark Canha handle most of the work in right field. Waters had been Kyle Isbel's (illness) primary backup in center field before Renfroe's departure.

Manoah (elbow) has built up to 40 pitches during regular twice-a-week bullpen sessions as he recovers from elbow surgery, Mitch Bannon of the Athletic reports.

The Blue Jays haven't provided a timeline for the right-hander to begin a rehab assignment, but the team still appears to be targeting an early August return for Manoah after he underwent a hybrid internal brace procedure last June. In the meantime, the 27-year-old will continue with his throwing program and focus on keeping his mechanics in sync and regaining a feel for his pitches. Through five starts in 2024 before being shut down, Manoah posted a 3.70 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 26:8 K:BB in 24.1 innings, and he could provide a late-season boost to a Blue Jays rotation that's struggled to find a reliable fifth starter this season.

Bieber (elbow) will make his first rehab start Saturday in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League, SI.com reports.

Bieber, who underwent Tommy John surgery April 12, 2024, has been throwing to hitters in Arizona since the start of May and is now ready to begin his rehab assignment. The veteran right-hander will need a lengthy ramp-up period, and it's possible his rehab will move up to a full-season affiliate after Saturday's outing.

Rafaela isn't part of Boston's lineup for Monday's game against the Brewers.

Rafaela will get the day off Monday after starting five consecutive games. In his place, Kristian Campbell will bat fourth and fill center field while David Hamilton slots in at second base. Rafaela has one hit in his last 22 at-bats.

Caglianone has gone 9-for-26 (.346) with five home runs, 10 RBI and five runs scored in six games since being promoted to Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.

Caglianone moved up to Omaha after slashing .316/.385/.546 in 175 plate appearances at Double-A Northwest Arkansas to begin the season, and he hasn't skipped a beat at the next level. The 22-year-old looks to be on the fast track to making his MLB debut, and he's notably made three of his starts with Omaha so far in the corner outfield. Though first base might end up being Caglianone's long-term home in the majors, left field, right field and the designated-hitter spot represent his most logical avenues for playing time with Kansas City in 2025.

Wells (abdomen) struck out six and allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks in his start Saturday for Double-A Chesapeake.

In his previous outing May 17, Wells was lifted after just one inning due to left abdominal discomfort, but the issue wasn't significant enough for him to miss a turn through the Chesapeake rotation. After turning in a 6.71 ERA over 21 starts with High-A Aberdeen in 2024, Wells has enjoyed better results at Chesapeake despite the jump in competition. Over 31.1 innings in the Eastern League, Wells owns a 3.45 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 29:9 K:BB.
