Jones isn't part of the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers.

The lefty-hitting Jones will take a seat for the second time in three days -- both absences have come against right-handed starters -- as Steven Kwan, Angel Martinez and Daniel Schneemann fill the outfield from left to right Monday. Jones has been utilized in a platoon with Jhonkensy Noel, making his recent absences from the starting lineup against RHP worth noting.

Santana (leg) isn't part of the starting nine for Monday's game against the Dodgers.

Santana was scratched from Sunday's lineup due to left leg tightness, and his removal was deemed precautionary. The Guardians have opted to withhold Santana from the lineup again Monday, allowing for Kyle Manzardo to draw the start at first base while Lane Thomas starts at DH.

The Orioles designated Hummel for assignment Monday.

Hummel inked a one-year contract with the Orioles on Sunday, but he'll yield his spot on the 40 and 26-man rosters to Chadwick Tromp. Hummel spent the 2025 season in the Yankees system before opting out of his minor-league deal May 21. Assuming he clears waivers, expect Hummel to be outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk.

The Orioles selected Tromp's contract from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday.

Tromp will provide temporary depth at the catcher position after Adley Rutschman (head) sustained what appears to be a minor injury Sunday. He'll operate as Baltimore's backup catcher behind Maverick Handley until Rutschman is back in action. Tromp appeared in two MLB games this season with Atlanta before being DFA'd on April 6.

Gimenez (quadriceps) could be cleared to begin a rehab assignment with Single-A Dunedin on Wednesday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Gimenez has been participating in full baseball activities and resumed running last week, and with his strained right quad apparently responding well, he's on the brink of beginning a rehab assignment. The second baseman likely won't need much more than a couple of rehab games before being reinstated from the 10-day injured list.

Baez was ejected from Monday's game against the Giants in the fifth inning after arguing balls and strikes with the home plate umpire, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Baez will finish Monday's contest 0-for-2 with a pair of strikeouts. Matt Vierling replaces Baez in center field. Baez is 20-for-73 (.274) with five home runs in May.

Sandlin (lat) will throw a bullpen session Monday at the Blue Jays' facility in Florida, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Sandlin has been on the shelf since April 20 due to a strained right lat. Monday's workout will represent his first time throwing off a mound since sustaining the injury. The 28-year-old will need to advance to facing live hitters before potentially being activated sometime in June.

Burr experienced renewed soreness in his right shoulder during his rehab appearance Sunday with Triple-A Buffalo and has returned to Toronto for further evaluation, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Burr was making his sixth rehab appearance as part of his recovery from lingering right shoulder inflammation and appeared close to a return from the 60-day injured list, but the setback will extend his return timeline. Once Burr undergoes further testing in Toronto, the Blue Jays should have a better idea regarding when he might be ready to resume his rehab assignment.

Garcia (shoulder) received a cortisone shot Monday and will be shut down from throwing for a few days, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

How Garcia feels in the coming days will determine when he'll resume throwing, and until then, there won't be much information on a timeline for return. He was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a right shoulder impingement, but he may need more than the minimum amount of time to move past the injury.

Fry (elbow) will continue his rehab assignment at Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Fry has appeared in six games during his current rehab stint, with three coming in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League and the other three coming with Double-A Akron. Despite hitting a combined 1-for-17 in those games, Fry will advance to Columbus. Last season, Fry appeared in over 15 games at designated hitter, catcher, first base and left field while also picking up a few starts at third base and right field. He'll be limited exclusively to DH once he's activated from the 60-day injured list, as he's not expected to be able to play the field at any point in 2025 after undergoing a UCL revision surgery on his throwing elbow last November.
