Not only did the veteran right-hander secure his first win, but he also collected his first quality start with this vintage 86-pitch performance. The lone blemish on Morton's outing was a 368-foot, two-run homer off the bat of Pedro Pages in the fifth inning. After pitching to a ghastly 9.38 ERA across his first 31.2 frames, Morton has been better of late, firing a 2.35 ERA and 17:4 K:BB over his last 15.1 innings. The 41-year-old receives a soft matchup for his next start, which currently lines up to be at home against the White Sox this weekend.

Rengifo is not in the Angels' starting lineup against the Yankees on Monday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Rengifo -- who went 2-for-10 with an RBI during the Angels' three-game weekend series against the Marlins -- will begin Monday's game in the dugout while Kevin Newman starts at second base and bats ninth. Rengifo has a .472 OPS with one steal and four RBI in 66 plate appearances since the beginning of May.

The Angels optioned Paris to Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.

Paris will give up his spot on the 26-man active roster to utility player Chris Taylor, who signed a one-year contract with the Angels on Monday. Though he began the season on a high note with a 1.263 OPS in his first 15 games, Paris has slashed .106/.165/.176 with two steals, one home run, three RBI and a 51.6 percent strikeout rate in 91 plate appearances since May 16. The 23-year-old will likely need to show improved plate discipline at Triple-A before getting another call-up.

Taylor signed a contract with the Angels and will start in center field and bat eighth for Monday's game against the Yankees, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Taylor's 10-season stint with the Dodgers came to an end earlier this month when he was released, but he won't have to travel far for his next stop. The 34-year-old utility player inked a deal with the Angels and figures to step into significant playing time right away for the 25-27 squad. Taylor's clearest path to action is in center field, where his primary competition will be Matthew Lugo, though the veteran's versatility could make him more of a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none type. Still, his lack of hitting production with the Dodgers -- he posted a .457 OPS with a 37.1 percent K rate this season -- makes him a risky fantasy option.

Lowe isn't part of the starting lineup for Monday's game against Minnesota, Brian Murphy of MLB.com reports.

Lowe's streak of five consecutive starts comes to an end Monday, and he'll give up right field duties to Christopher Morel to kick off a three-game set against the Twins. Lowe went 5-for-19 with a home run, a steal and two doubles during that five-game stretch.

Diaz isn't part of the Rays' starting lineup for Monday's game against the Twins, Brian Murphy of MLB.com reports.

Diaz will get the night off Monday after making nine consecutive starts at DH for Tampa Bay. In his stead, Brandon Lowe will DH and Curtis Mead will play second base.

Bader is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays.

Bader will get a breather Monday for the Twins' series opener against Tampa Bay. Willi Castro, DaShawn Keirsey and Trevor Larnach will fill the outfield from left to right.

Jones isn't part of the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers.

The lefty-hitting Jones will take a seat for the second time in three days -- both absences have come against right-handed starters -- as Steven Kwan, Angel Martinez and Daniel Schneemann fill the outfield from left to right Monday. Jones has been utilized in a platoon with Jhonkensy Noel, making his recent absences from the starting lineup against RHP worth noting.

Santana (leg) isn't part of the starting nine for Monday's game against the Dodgers.

Santana was scratched from Sunday's lineup due to left leg tightness, and his removal was deemed precautionary. The Guardians have opted to withhold Santana from the lineup again Monday, allowing for Kyle Manzardo to draw the start at first base while Lane Thomas starts at DH.

The Orioles designated Hummel for assignment Monday.

Hummel inked a one-year contract with the Orioles on Sunday, but he'll yield his spot on the 40 and 26-man rosters to Chadwick Tromp. Hummel spent the 2025 season in the Yankees system before opting out of his minor-league deal May 21. Assuming he clears waivers, expect Hummel to be outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk.
