  • Leonardo Rivas 2B | SEA

Mariners' Leo Rivas: Pops homer off bench

Rivas hit a two-run home run in his lone at-bat in Monday's 10-2 loss to the Rays.

Rivas was called up earlier in the day as rosters expanded to 28. He didn't start, but he pinch hit for Jorge Polanco in the ninth inning and provided the Mariners' lone runs in the lopsided loss. The homer was the first of his big-league career Rivas hadn't played in the majors since May 29 after a middling stretch of action early in the campaign. The infielder is slashing .295/.419/.361 with six RBI, 15 runs scored, four stolen bases and a double over 74 plate appearances. Rivas is likely to fill a reserve role around the infield, with his best chance of playing time coming at second base if he can challenge the duo of Polanco and Cole Young.

  • Luis Castillo SP | SEA

Mariners' Luis Castillo: Skid continues Monday

Castillo (8-8) allowed five runs on six hits and a walk while striking out five over four innings to take the loss versus the Rays on Monday.

Castillo was held under the five-inning mark for the third time in his last four starts. In that span, he's surrendered 19 runs over 17 innings, including six home runs, one of which came off the bat of Nick Fortes in the second inning of Monday's contest. Castillo is also winless in his last six outings, though he's taken just two losses in that span. For the season, he's now at a 3.94 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 138:44 K:BB through 155.1 innings over 28 starts. He'll look to get back on track over the weekend in a road start at Atlanta.

  • Rays' Junior Caminero: Drives in pair Monday

Caminero went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Monday's 10-2 win over the Mariners.

Caminero hit a decent .262 (27-for-103) with 12 home runs and 23 RBI over 26 games in August. While he didn't start September with a bang, he continues to be a steady source of run production. The third baseman is up to a .258/.300/.530 slash line with 39 homers, 96 RBI, 80 runs scored, 23 doubles and seven stolen bases over 131 contests. Barring a brutal slump or injury, he should have no trouble topping the 40-homer and 100-RBI marks.

  • Jake Mangum LF | TB

Rays' Jake Mangum: Swipes bag in three-hit game

Mangum went 3-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and a run scored in Monday's 10-2 win over the Mariners.

Mangum has hit well lately, going 12-for-23 (.522) over his last six games. Despite the hot bat, he's still confined to a strong-side platoon role for the Rays, primarily sharing center field with Everson Pereira. Mangum is up to 21 steals on 25 attempts this season, and he's added a .291/.324/.364 slash line with two home runs, 34 RBI, 34 runs scored, 16 doubles and one triple through 344 plate appearances.

  • Tristan Gray 2B | TB

Rays' Tristan Gray: Goes yard in win

Gray went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 10-2 win over the Mariners.

Gray's first two homers of the season have come over his last three games, though that stretch dates back to Aug. 22. The infielder hasn't been able to carve out consistent playing time despite being with the big club throughout August. He's at a .200/.243/.400 slash line with five RBI, four runs scored, no stolen bases and one double across 37 plate appearances in the majors this season.

  • Nick Fortes C | TB

Rays' Nick Fortes: Launches early homer

Fortes went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and two additional runs scored in Monday's 10-2 win over the Mariners.

Fortes hit just .139 (5-for-36) with four RBI over 16 games in August, so he's already off to a better start in September. The catcher's long ball opened the scoring in the second inning, leading the charge in the Rays' romp to the win. For the season, he's at a .218/.286/.333 slash line with four homers, 17 RBI, 17 runs scored and one stolen base across 194 plate appearances. Hunter Feduccia has seen a slight edge for playing time lately, but he hasn't hit well enough to relegate Fortes completely to a backup role.

  • Shane Baz SP | TB

Rays' Shane Baz: Gets back in win column

Baz (9-11) allowed five hits and two walks while striking out six over six scoreless innings to earn the win over the Mariners on Monday.

Baz went 0-8 with a 6.58 ERA over 53.1 innings across 10 starts in July and August, but he was able to start September on a better note. He's walked exactly two batters in each of his last 10 outings, which isn't great, but that's something he can manage as long as he's not giving up too many hits. Baz is at a 4.98 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 156:56 K:BB over 150 innings through 27 starts this season. He's projected for a home start versus the Guardians over the weekend.

  • Mitch Farris SP | LAA

Angels' Mitch Farris: Set for major-league debut Tuesday

Farris will start Tuesday's game versus the Royals in Kansas City, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

After having his contract selected from Double-A Rocket City on Monday, Farris will take the hill Tuesday for his MLB debut. The left-hander owns an impressive 28 percent strikeout rate over 116 innings with Rocket City, and he had covered at least six innings in five of his last six outings in the minors, logging a 2.52 ERA and 1.26 WHIP during that stretch. Farris should have the chance to make multiple turns through the Los Angeles rotation in September.

  • Bo Bichette SS | TOR

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Stays hot in four-hit game

Bichette went 4-for-4 with a two-run home run, a double and an additional run scored in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Reds.

Bichette amassed at least four hits for the fifth time this season, and the homer was his 17th on the year. After logging a career-worst .599 OPS during an injury-ruined 2024 regular season, Bichette has returned to form as one of fantasy's top shortstops in 2025. The infielder leads MLB in hits (176), and Bichette is batting a scorching .374 with six long balls, 22 doubles and 39 RBI over his last 211 at-bats since the start of July.

  • Ramon Urias 2B | HOU

Astros' Ramon Urias: Goes deep in win

Urias went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and an additional RBI in Monday's 8-3 victory over the Angels.

Urias drew the start at second, where he has become a mainstay for the Astros, and clubbed his second homer with his new club. The 31-year-old opened the contest's scoring with a 361-foot blast off Los Angeles starter Yusei Kikuchi in the second. Since joining Houston from Baltimore at the trade deadline, Urias has batted .300 (18-for-60) with six RBI and five runs scored across 21 games.
