Chisholm (groin) is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest in Kansas City.

It's not a surprise that Chisholm is sitting out Thursday's series finale after he had to exit Wednesday's game with left groin tightness. The positive news is Chisholm has not been placed on the 10-day injured list and is considered day-to-day at this time. Oswald Peraza will pick up a start at third base for the Yankees.

Judge is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Kansas City.

It's the first day off this season for Judge, who has homered four times over his last three contests. Cody Bellinger will patrol right field Thursday as the Yankees try to complete the sweep.

Carter went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, two total RBI, an additional run scored and a stolen base in Thursday's 16-3 win over the Twins.

Carter has been red hot at the plate of late, logging four straight multi-hit games -- he's gone 10-for-16 with three homers, five extra-base hits and a pair of stolen bases while striking out just once in that span. The 22-year-old outfielder has boosted his slash line to .293/.369/.534 through 65 plate appearances this season with four homers, 10 RBI, 12 runs scored and five stolen bases.

Burger went 3-for-6 with a solo home run, three total RBI and an additional run scored in Thursday's 16-3 win over Minnesota.

Burger put the Rangers ahead for good with a solo shot off Bailey Ober in the second inning, his 10th homer of the year, before adding a pair of RBI singles later in the contest. The 29-year-old Burger has gone 7-for-20 (.350) with a pair of homers in his last four games, boosting his slash line to .225/.255/.421 with 28 RBI and 27 runs scored through 220 plate appearances this season.

Walter is slated to start Sunday's game against the Twins in Houston, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

As expected, Walter will receive a second straight turn through Houston's six-man rotation while the Astros remain short on healthy arms with six starting pitchers currently residing on the injured list. Only one of those six injured pitchers (J.P. France) has resumed facing hitters at this point, so Walter could be in store for an extended run in the rotation. He's pitched well in both of his two starts with Houston this season, striking out five over five shutout innings May 20 at Tampa Bay and recording another five strikeouts over six innings of two-run ball this past Sunday in Cleveland. The 28-year-old southpaw has enjoyed a similar level of success at Triple-A Sugar Land, where he compiled a 2.08 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 49:7 K:BB in 47.2 innings prior to getting called up last week.

Sosa (hip) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Friday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Sosa had expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Friday, but he'll instead start up a rehab stint. He landed on the shelf in early June with a right hip flexor strain and should be able to rejoin the White Sox after a quick stay in the minors.

O'Hearn is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Tigers.

The left-handed-hitting O'Hearn doesn't always sit against left-handed pitching, but he'll begin this one on the bench as the Tigers send tough southpaw Tarik Skubal to the rubber. Jackson Holliday is getting a start in the designated hitter spot.

Mullins is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Tigers.

It's lefty ace Tarik Skubal on the bump for the Tigers, so the left-handed-hitting Mullins will receive a day off. Colton Cowser will slide over to center field and Dylan Carlson will handle left field for the Orioles.

Corbin (4-5) earned the win Thursday over the Twins, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out six.

After taking a loss despite throwing an eight-inning complete game in his last outing, Corbin had much better luck Thursday -- the Rangers jumped out to a 6-1 lead thanks to a five-run second inning, ultimately cruising to a 16-3 victory. The 35-year-old Corbin has yet to allow more than three runs in a start in what's been an impressive bounce-back campaign. His ERA sits at 3.66 with a 1.22 WHIP and 49:21 K:BB across 12 starts (66.1 innings). Corbin is currently slated to face the Royals at home in his next outing.

The Yankees recalled Effross from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday.

It's the corresponding move for Brent Headrick, whose demotion to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre was already announced. Effross holds a 12.71 ERA at SWB in 2025 but has turned in consecutive scoreless appearances.
