Soler (back) is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Soler will take a seat for the second straight game while he manages a stiff back. With Soler on the bench for the series finale in New York, Jo Adell will shift over to right field, allowing Scott Kingery to pick up a start in center field.

The Tigers recalled Smith from Triple-A Toledo on Thursday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Smith will serve as the 27th man for Thursday's doubleheader versus the Pirates and will be available for both contests of the twin bill. The 25-year-old has made two relief appearances for the Tigers this season, allowing two runs over three innings.

Sborz (shoulder) threw about 25 pitches in a live batting practice Wednesday at Globe Life Field, MLB.com reports.

Sborz has thrown a few sessions of batting practice, and manager Bruce Bochy confirmed he'll throw one or two more before heading out on a rehab assignment. The right-handed reliever has been working his way back from shoulder surgery he underwent in November of 2024.

The Yankees transferred Cabrera (ankle) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Thursday.

Cabrera suffered a fracture as well as ligament damage to his left ankle May 12 and underwent surgery soon thereafter. While the Yankees haven't officially ruled Cabrera out for the season, the infielder is unlikely to return until late in September or perhaps October, if the club is able to make a playoff run. With that in mind, Cabrera's move to the 60-day IL is merely procedural, as it opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for reliever Jayvien Sandridge, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

White will serve as the 27th man for Thursday's doubleheader against the Cardinals. The right-hander will provide some length in the bullpen, which the White Sox will likely need in the second game with Mike Vasil making just his third start following a long stint as a reliever.

The Yankees placed De Los Santos on the 15-day injured list Thursday due to right elbow discomfort.

He'll be replaced in the bullpen by lefty Jayvien Sandridge, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. De Los Santos has worked in middle relief over his three stints in the big leagues this season, logging a 1.80 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 13:12 K:BB in 20 innings.

The White Sox recalled Gilbert from Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday.

Gilbert will provide a fresh arm for the bullpen ahead of Thursday's doubleheader against the Cardinals. The left-hander has posted a 4.20 ERA and 17:7 K:BB over 15 frames with the big club this season.

The White Sox placed Houser on the paternity list Thursday.

By rule, Houser will miss the next 1-to-3 games. According to Jack Ankony of SI.com, Houser is still expected to pitch this weekend in Toronto when his next turn through the rotation comes up, though it's not yet clear which day he'll start.

The Yankees selected Sandridge's contract from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday.

A 26-year-old lefty reliever, Sandridge will be making his MLB debut when he gets into a game. After beginning the season on Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's 60-day injured list, Sandridge has been effective since he was cleared to return to action for the affiliate in late May. Over his six appearances prior to his call-up, Sandridge allowed one earned run on four hits and four walks while striking out 13 over seven innings.

Kayfus is batting .318/.386/.583 with 22 extra-base hits, 22 RBI and 20 runs scored over 40 games for Triple-A Columbus.

Kayfus has rocked two minor-league levels in 2025. He lasted just three weeks at Double-A Akron -- where he slashed .364/.475/.591 over 18 games -- before a promotion to the Clippers at the end of April. His primary position is first base, but the organization has him learning corner outfield. He's appeared in seven games (six starts) in left field and 17 (14 starts) in right. While he's currently blocked at first base by Carlos Santana and Kyle Manzardo, the Guardians are getting sub-par production in right field, which could be an option for Kayfus.
