Carter started in center field and went 1-for-3 with a walk and two stolen bases in Friday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to San Diego.

Carter returned from the bereavement list and picked up where he left off. The outfielder extended a hit streak to eight games and stole multiple bases for the second straight contest. Carter is slashing .355/.459/.387 with five steals and one RBI over the hit streak. He was eventually replaced by a pinch hitter in the 10th inning against a lefty reliever, which is a normal practice of Texas manager Bruce Bochy. Carter has just 10 plate appearances against southpaws this season.

Langford (oblique) started in left field and went 1-for-3 with a solo home run for Double-A Frisco on Thursday.

Thursday's appearance was the first of a rehab assignment for Langford and may be his only one. He did not play Friday, and MLB.com reports the Rangers are expected to activate Langford ahead of Saturday's game against Padres.

Arias (ankle) fielded groundballs prior to Friday's game, MLB.com reports.

Arias is dealing with what an MRI revealed to be a "moderate" sprain, according to Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt. The manager noted that the infielder, who had taken over as the primary shortstop, appears to have avoided a major injury. Since Arias landed on the 10-day injured list, the Guardians have used a combination of Brayan Rocchio and Daniel Schneemann at shortstop.

Green (3-2) struck out one in a scoreless 10th inning Friday to record the win in a 3-2 victory over the Angels.

He did plunk Nolan Schanuel with a pitch, but it was otherwise another tidy performance from Green. The veteran right-hander has been scored upon only once in his last nine appearances, posting a 1.04 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 6:5 K:BB through 8.2 innings over that stretch, and he's worked his way back into a high-leverage spot in the Toronto bullpen as a result, collecting two holds and a win in his last four outings.

Martinez went 1-for-4 in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Tigers.

Martinez started at second base before moving to center field after Lane Thomas (foot) was removed. Thomas suffered a recurrence of plantar fasciitis, an injury that forced him to the injured list from May 30 to June 9. As a result, Martinez could see more opportunities in the outfield if Thomas requires another IL stint. Martinez has scuffled over the last 12 games, going 4-for-30 (.133) with one RBI and zero extra-base hits.

Santander (shoulder) could begin swinging a bat late next week, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

The 30-year-old slugger has been on the shelf since May 30 due to a shoulder issue and just got shifted to the 60-day IL, ensuring he'll be unavailable until at least the end of July, but he's close to ramping up his activity level. The Blue Jays have gotten very little from Santander so far after signing him to a five-year, $92.5 million contract this winter, but he could yet provide a boost to the offense for the stretch run.

Quero went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 win over the Rockies.

The rookie catcher took advantage of a trip to Coors Field to launch his first career MLB homer, and it was a big one -- Quero broke a 2-2 tie in the sixth inning when he hooked an Antonio Senzatela curveball over the right-field wall. While his power hasn't shown up consistently yet, Quero is slashing a respectable .273/.347/.331 through his first 193 plate appearances for the White Sox with seven doubles and 19 RBI.

Cantillo is listed as the Guardians' scheduled starter for Tuesday's game in Houston.

Cantillo will be making his second turn through the Cleveland rotation after he was called up from Triple-A Columbus to start in Thursday's 1-0 extra-inning loss to the Cubs after Luis L. Ortiz was placed on the restricted list. Ortiz will remain out through at least the All-Star break while he remains the subject of an ongoing league investigation, so Cantillo looks as though he'll be in line for a two-start week to close out the Guardians' first-half schedule, with the young lefty's second turn expected to come next Sunday against the White Sox. After he hadn't covered four innings in any of his four starts with Triple-A Columbus prior to being recalled Thursday, Cantillo handled a light workload in his outing against the Cubs, tossing 68 pitches over 3.1 scoreless innings while striking out five batters.

Taylor gave up a hit and struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning Friday to record his third save of the season in a 3-2 win over the Rockies.

The rookie right-hander is separating himself from the pack in the White Sox bullpen. Taylor has three of the team's last four saves, and the only exception came one day after he'd thrown 31 pitches over two innings against the Giants. His stuff warrants getting a chance to establish himself as a dominant late-inning arm, as he topped out at 101.3 mph with his fastball Friday while getting whiffs with both his slider and curveball. Through his first 12.1 big-league innings, Taylor has a 4.38 ERA, but he has yet to allow a homer and sports a much more impressive 0.97 WHIP and 14:3 K:BB.

Houser (4-2) picked up the win in Friday's 3-2 victory over the Rockies, allowing two unearned runs on four hits and two walks over eight innings. He struck out six.

While the 2025 edition of the Colorado offense doesn't present much of a challenge for pitchers, pitching at Coors Field carries its own risks, and Houser navigated them brilliantly. A throwing error by Josh Rojas in the fifth inning led to the only runs off the right-hander, as Houser generated 30 called or swinging strikes among his 96 pitches (65 total strikes) en route to his third straight quality start and seventh in eight trips to the mound for the White Sox. He'll take a 1.60 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 37:16 K:BB through 50.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Blue Jays.
