Sewald picked up the save in Wednesday's 4-2 win over Houston, tossing a clean ninth inning. He struck out one.

Closer Emmanuel Clase had worked each of the past three days for Cleveland, so he earned a well-deserved rest Wednesday. His unavailability paved the way for Sewald to claim his second save of the season as he looks to settle in as a high-leverage arm for the Guardians. Through his first 14.2 frames, the veteran right-hander owns a 4.91 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 18:2 K:BB with four holds.

Correa went 2-for-4 with a double and RBI in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Cubs.

That's now four multi-hit games already this month for Correa, who's batting .308 over his first 26 at-bats of July. The veteran shortstop should continue to see plenty of RBI chances as long as he's hitting in the heart of Minnesota's lineup. Over his last 39 outings, Correa is slashing a respectable .290/.335/.448 with five home runs, eight doubles, 17 RBI and 21 runs scored covering 155 plate appearances.

Duran tallied the save in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Cubs, throwing a clean ninth inning with no strikeouts.

Duran wasn't available for Tuesday's win over Chicago due to an illness, but he was feeling well enough to nail down his 14th save of the season Wednesday. The hard-throwing right-hander posted his fifth scoreless outing in a row, and he should continue to serve as the Twins' closer going forward. Through 41.1 innings this year, Duran holds an excellent 1.52 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 45:16 K:BB.

Meyers was pulled from Wednesday's game versus Cleveland due to right calf tightness, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Meyers was scheduled to return Wednesday from a two-game absence caused by tightness in his right calf, but he aggravated the injury while running to center field ahead of the first pitch and had to be helped off the field. The severity of his injury remains unknown, but after suffering two occurrences to the same calf in four days, the Astros could decide to place him on the injured list, especially with the All-Star break just a few days away. Kenedy Corona and Taylor Trammell would likely see an increase in playing time if Meyers were to miss any games.

Meyers was removed from Wednesday's game against the Guardians with an apparent leg injury, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Meyers injured himself while running out to center field for the beginning of Wednesday's contest, and he had to rely on one of Houston's athletic trainers for support while walking off the field. The 29-year-old outfielder missed Houston's last two games while battling a calf injury, though it's currently unknown if his removal Wednesday is due to a similar issue.

Buxton was removed from Wednesday's game against the Cubs after getting hit on the left hand by a pitch, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Buxton initially remained in the game after getting plunked in the first inning, but he was lifted for a pinch hitter when his spot in the lineup came around in the second frame. The 31-year-old outfielder was diagnosed with a left hand contusion shortly after leaving the game, per Dan Hayes of The Athletic, so he likely avoided structural damage but could still sit out a game or two to recover.

McKinstry went 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI in Wednesday's 7-3 loss to the Rays.

While Detroit's offense didn't really get rolling in this one, McKinstry managed to continue his strong July. The utility player is batting .310 this month with five extra-base hits in nine games. Overall, McKinstry is batting .286 with a robust .826 OPS, and he's been a pleasant surprise from an offensive standpoint for the surging Tigers. His efforts have also earned him his first career All-Star nod, as he was recently named as an injury replacement for Houston's Jeremy Pena (rib).

Lee (4-1) allowed four runs on five hits while retiring only one batter to take the loss Wednesday against the Rays.

Lee entered in the sixth inning with Detroit leading 3-2 and unraveled quickly to take his first loss in the majors. The rookie righty had been pitching well, as he came into the game with a 2.05 ERA across 30.2 innings, but he saw that number jump up to 3.19. Lee will look to get back on track soon, and his performance to date suggests he'll be able to shake off his first truly rough outing at the MLB level.

Short is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

Short had started at shortstop in each of the past four games, going 4-for-13 with two doubles, one walk, three RBI and two runs. Mauricio Dubon will get the nod at shortstop Wednesday, but the Astros may have room for both players in the middle infield on a fairly consistent basis until Jeremy Pena (rib) returns from the 10-day injured list.

The Guardians announced Wednesday that Ramirez won't participate in 2025 All-Star Game festivities next week while he focuses on recovery and preparation for the second half of the season.

Though the historically durable Ramirez has thus far avoided any trips to the injured list this season, he's been banged up at various points through the first three-plus months of the campaign. As Zack Meisel of The Athletic notes, Ramirez sprained his wrist in late March, sprained his ankle in early May, and was most recently hit in the forearm by a pitch in late June. None of the injuries are expected to hinder Ramirez moving forward, and he'll remain in the lineup for Wednesday's series finale in Houston. Expect Ramirez to continue handling his usual everyday role during the Guardians' four-game series against the White Sox later this week to close out the first half before he uses the All-Star break for extended rest and recovery. The Astros' Isaac Paredes is slated to replace Ramirez on the American League All-Star roster.
