Elko was removed from the first game of Friday's doubleheader against the Guardians due to right knee soreness.

Elko started at first base and struck out in his lone plate appearance prior to exiting the contest. It's unclear if the 26-year-old will be available for Friday's nightcap, and he should be considered day-to-day until more information is available.

Dezenzo (hand) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Dezenzo has been on the 10-day injured list since June 1 after suffering a capsule strain in his left hand. While there haven't been any updates on his recovery progress, his transfer to the 60-day injured list will prevent him from returning until at least August. Still, he remains without a definitive date for a return.

The Astros placed Meyers on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to July 10, due to a right calf strain, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Meyers missed back-to-back games earlier this week due to right calf tightness and aggravated the injury during Wednesday's contest against Cleveland. Further testing revealed the center fielder is dealing with a strain, which will result in a stint on the injured list. While he's idle, look for Kenedy Corona and Taylor Trammell to handle most of the center field work.

The Rays recalled Mead from Triple-A Durham on Friday.

The 24-year-old was optioned to Durham in early July but will rejoin Tampa Bay for the final three games of the first half with Brandon Lowe (oblique) headed to the injured list. Mead has a .225/.320/.342 slash line with three homers and four steals in 128 plate appearances in the big leagues this season, and he's likely to operate as a reserve infielder while up with the Rays.

The Rays placed Lowe on the 10-day injured list Friday due to left oblique tightness.

The 31-year-old hasn't seen the field since suffering the injury Sunday in Minnesota, and he'll spend the final series before the All-Star break on the injured list. Lowe will be unable to take part in the Midsummer Classic as a result, but he'll be eligible to be reinstated for the start of the second half July 18 versus Baltimore.

Anthony is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Tampa Bay.

Anthony will get the night off after making 13 consecutive starts. During that stretch, the rookie went 21-for-55 (.382) with 11 runs scored and eight RBI. Masataka Yoshida will DH while Jarren Duran, Ceddanne Rafaela and Wilyer Abreu fill the outfield from left to right.

The Red Sox activated Dobbins (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to start Friday's game against the Rays, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

Dobbins has been on the shelf since June 22 due to a strained right elbow, but he's been cleared to rejoin the Red Sox. He threw 62 pitches in his lone rehab outing, so he should be able to handle something close to a regular workload. In 12 appearances (10 starts) before sustaining the injury, Dobbins logged a 4.10 ERA and a 43:16 K:BB. Isaiah Campbell was optioned to Triple-A Worcester in a corresponding move.

The Red Sox reinstated Bregman (quadriceps) from the 10-day injured list Friday, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

The veteran third baseman will join the Red Sox to face the Rays this weekend for the final series before the All-Star break. Bregman missed seven weeks due to a quadriceps strain but is back without having gone on a rehab assignment, and he's expected to start two of Boston's final three games of the first half. He's at third base and batting second Friday.

The Mariners placed Vargas on the paternity list Friday.

The All-Star break begins Monday, so it's likely Vargas will have the full weekend off for personal reasons before returning to the team when the schedule resumes. Seattle recalled Tayler Saucedo from Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move.
