Byron Buxton CF | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Not in Monday's lineup
Buxton (knee) is not in the Twins' starting lineup against the Angels on Monday.
Buxton is nursing a left knee contusion that he suffered against the Royals on Sunday, when his knee was hit by a pitch in the fifth inning. Austin Martin, James Outman and Matt Wallner will start in the Twins' outfield from left to right for Monday's series opener due to Buxton's injury.

Lawrence Butler RF | ATH
Athletics' Lawrence Butler: Not starting Monday
Butler is not in the Athletics' starting lineup against the Red Sox on Monday.
Butler has a .188 batting average over 106 plate appearances against southpaws this season, so he'll begin Monday's game in the dugout as the Red Sox send Garrett Crochet to the mound. Tyler Soderstrom, Colby Thomas and Brent Rooker will start in the outfield from left to right for the Athletics. Butler has logged at least two hits in five of his last 10 games, and over that span he has gone 13-for-38 (.342) with six runs, two homers and five RBI.

Tyler Mahle SP | TEX
Rangers' Tyler Mahle: Could be activated this weekend
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Monday that Mahle (shoulder) could return from the 60-day injured list this weekend to make a start against the Mets, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Out since mid-June with a right shoulder strain, Mahle was roughed up in his first rehab outing but was better his last time out, striking out three over 2.1 scoreless innings for Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday. He is not fully stretched out after throwing just 47 pitches Sunday, but the Rangers may consider using him in tandem with Jacob Latz, who recently moved from the bullpen to the rotation. Mahle managed a 2.34 ERA over 14 starts covering 77 innings before getting hurt, but a pedestrian 56:27 K:BB suggested that he benefited from some batted-ball luck.

Logan Evans SP | SEA
Mariners' Logan Evans: On track for rehab assignment
Evans (elbow) threw a bullpen session Monday and is on track to begin a rehab assignment next week, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Evans landed on the 15-day injured list on Aug. 15 due to right elbow inflammation and will likely need just one or two rehab starts in the minors to get stretched back out. Prior to being deactivated, Evans went 6-5 with a 4.37 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 58:30 K:BB across 78.1 innings over 15 starts with Seattle. With the Seattle rotation currently at full strength, Evans could be relegated to a bullpen role once he's reinstated.

Ryan Bliss 2B | SEA
Mariners' Ryan Bliss: Tears meniscus at Triple-A
Mariners manager Justin Hollander said Monday that Bliss (biceps) tore the meniscus in his right knee while on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma and is out for the rest of the season, Tim Booth of The Seattle Times reports.
Bliss had been on the shelf since April 9 due to a left biceps tear that required surgery, but he appeared to be on the cusp of a return from the 60-day injured list after going 5-for-13 with three doubles, four walks, two stolen bases and seven RBI through his first six rehab games with Tacoma. Unfortunately for the 25-year-old infielder, he seemingly suffered the knee injury over the weekend and required another surgery Monday. Hollander didn't provide a timeline for Bliss' return from the knee procedure, but if Bliss required a full repair of the meniscus, he could be out of action for the start of spring training.

Sebastian Rivero C | LAA
Angels' Sebastian Rivero: Joins big-league roster
The Angels selected Rivero's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Rivero is assuming the roster spot vacated by Logan O'Hoppe and is starting Monday's game against the Twins. It will be the 26-year-old's first action at the major-league level since 2022. Rivero has hit .264/.309/.429 with nine homers in 68 contests this season with Salt Lake.

Logan O'Hoppe C | LAA
Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Goes on concussion injured list
The Angels placed O'Hoppe on the 7-day concussion injured list Monday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
O'Hoppe had to be removed from Sunday's game against the Athletics after being struck in the head by the backswing of Jacob Wilson, and after going through tests it has been determined he suffered a concussion. He will be eligible for activation Sept. 16, but it's an uncertain timeline to return anytime a concussion is involved. Sebastian Rivero has been added to the roster and is starting at catcher Monday against the Twins, but it will be Travis d'Arnaud seeing the bulk of the action behind the dish while O'Hoppe is out.

Jo Adell CF | LAA
Angels' Jo Adell: Back in lineup
Adell (illness) is starting in right field and batting fifth against the Twins on Monday, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
Adell left in the ninth inning of Sunday's game against the Athletics after experiencing nausea, but the 26-year-old outfielder has been cleared to play in Monday's series opener. He earned the American League Player of the Week award after going 11-for-27 (.407) with one steal, five home runs and 12 RBI over his past seven games.

Victor Robles RF | SEA
Mariners' Victor Robles: Third straight start in right field
Robles will start in right field and bat eighth in Monday's game versus the Cardinals.
The right-handed-hitting Robles has started in all three of the Mariners' contests since being reinstated from a seven-game suspension, and Monday marks the second time he's faced a right-handed starter during that stretch. Robles has reached base twice in both of his first two games back from suspension and looks to have leapfrogged Dominic Canzone on the depth chart in right field.
-
Dominic Canzone RF | SEA
Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Losing work to Robles
Canzone is not in the lineup for Monday's contest against the Cardinals.
Victor Robles will pick up a third straight start in right field since completing a seven-game suspension, and he's been included in the lineup twice against right-handed starting pitchers. The left-handed-hitting Canzone appears to be fading into a reserve role for the Mariners after he had mostly occupied the strong side of a platoon following his promotion from Triple-A Tacoma on June 9.
