Short (rib) will start at shortstop and bat ninth in Monday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Short was scratched from Sunday's lineup versus the Mariners with rib soreness, but he's feeling well enough to play a day later. With Short handling shortstop Monday, Mauricio Dubon will slide over to third base for the Astros.

Bigge (face/lat) said Monday that he feels back to normal and is hopeful to pitch again this season, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

Initially placed on the injured list back on May 6 due to a right lat strain, Bigge's return date was pushed back further June 19, when he was hit in the face by a foul ball while watching a game from the dugout. Bigge required surgery to address multiple facial fractures, but he appears to have made good progress in his recovery, noting Monday that he's since resumed eating solid foods. Bigge will look to regain strength before starting up a throwing program and gearing up for an eventual return from the 60-day IL.

Clarke will be placed on the 10-day injured list after being diagnosed with a Grade 2 right adductor strain, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

The Athletics will wait until prior to Tuesday's game against the Rangers before officially placing Clarke on the IL. It's likely that either JJ Bleday or Colby Thomas will take Clarke's spot on the roster. While there is no timetable for Clarke's return, it will likely be longer than a minimum stay on the IL, given the nature of the injury.

Rojas is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rays.

The left-handed-hitting Rojas had been excluded from the lineup in three of the past four games while the White Sox faced three lefty starters, but he'll be on the bench Monday against a righty (Shane Baz). For the season, Rojas is batting just .177/.243/.244 with one home run and four stolen bases in 182 plate appearances. Given his poor production along with the fact that he's on an expiring contract, Rojas could be at risk of moving into a bench role -- or potentially getting cut -- if the White Sox aren't able to find a taker for him prior to the July 31 trade deadline.

Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young said Monday that the club is targeting Wednesday against the Athletics for Eovaldi's (back) next start, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Eovaldi had to be scratched from a scheduled outing Sunday versus the Tigers due to back tightness, but he will avoid the 15-day injured list and take the ball Wednesday as long as he continues to make progress. The veteran right-hander has permitted just two runs (one earned) with a 19:2 K:BB across 18.2 innings in his three starts this month.

Perez (elbow) is aiming to begin a rehab assignment Aug. 2, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Out since mid-April with a left flexor strain, Perez has been throwing off a mound and will progress to facing hitters at the end of this week. Assuming his rehab continues to move along without hiccups, he will be cleared for rehab games in early August and likely return before the end of that month if all goes well.

Soler is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets.

Soler will get his second day off in the Angels' first four games of the second half after he went 3-for-8 with a solo home run and two walks during the team's three-game series in Philadelphia over the weekend. LaMonte Wade will cover right field in Soler's stead.

Rays manager Kevin Cash said that McClanahan (triceps) "felt OK, nothing great" during a 10-pitch bullpen session Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The bullpen session came after McClanahan served up two home runs and recorded only two outs in his most recent rehab start with Triple-A Durham on Friday. The southpaw is tentatively scheduled to make the fourth start of his rehab assignment Thursday, but Cash indicated that the Rays haven't yet locked McClanahan in to make an appearance that day. McClanahan has been sidelined all season with a nerve issue in his pitching arm, and he has yet to cover more than 1.2 innings in any of his rehab outings thus far.

Schanuel (wrist) will start at first base and bat second in Monday's game against the Mets.

After exiting early in the Angels' 8-2 win over the Phillies when he was struck by a pitch in the left wrist, Schanuel was diagnosed with nothing more than a bruise when X-rays came back negative. He appears to have responded well to treatment and will return to his usual spot in the infield as the Angels kick off a three-game set in Queens.

Wagner is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees.

The Blue Jays are facing off against a lefty starter (Carlos Rodon) for the second straight game, so the left-handed-hitting Wagner will remain on the bench. Leo Jimenez will get another start at second base while Ernie Clement shifts over to third base.
