Montgomery went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Rays.

Montgomery's lone hit of the night was a solo home run in the seventh to bring the White Sox within one run. It was the rookie's first career long ball, and he's now hit safely in four of five games coming out of the All-Star break while tallying an RBI in each of those contests. Tuesday also marked the first time in seven games that Montgomery did not strike out. He had punched out 10 times over his past six games coming into Tuesday.

Laureano went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Guardians.

The veteran outfielder is rumored to be on the move by the trade deadline, and Laureano certainly isn't hurting his value to a contender. He's gone yard in back-to-back games, and over the last 12 contests he's slashing .310/.333/.571 with two doubles, three homers, four runs and a whopping 13 RBI.

Smith started at designated hitter and went 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Athletics.

Smith continues to fill in everywhere for the Rangers. He most recently had a regular gig at third base, but that closed when Josh Jung was called up from Triple-A Round Rock. Besides DH, Smith can get consistent playing time at first base while Jake Burger (quadriceps) is on the 10-day injured list.

Martin (2-8) took the loss Tuesday against the Rays, allowing four runs (three earned) on three hits and four walks while striking out three in five innings.

Martin pitched well outside of a troublesome second frame during which the Rays plated all four of their runs. Excluding the one inning, Martin faced just one over the minimum and ended his night by striking out Yandy Diaz. Martin's record does not properly reflect his performance this season. He now owns a 3.89 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 56:23 K:BB in 85.2 innings and lines up for another start at home against the Phillies next week.

Butler went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Rangers.

Butler opened up the game with a leadoff home run against Jacob deGrom but was silenced the rest of the way. The long ball was Butler's first hit since coming back from the All-Star break and he's struck out nine times over his last three games. He's hitting just .193 across 16 games in July while posting a 33.3 strikeout rate over that span.

Young (0-5) took the loss Tuesday as the Orioles fell 6-3 to the Guardians, giving up three runs on four hits and three walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out three.

The right-hander got tagged for runs in the first, third and fifth innings, with an Angel Martinez double chasing him from the game after 73 pitches (45 strikes). The three free passes were the most Young had issued since rejoining the big-league rotation in late June, and over five starts he's been pummeled for a 7.77 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 19:6 K:BB over 22 innings, serving up seven homers along the way. Zach Eflin (back) is expected to come off the IL on Wednesday, with Cade Povich (hip) and Kyle Bradish (elbow) not far behind him, so Young is likely headed back to Triple-A Norfolk.

Haggerty (ankle) ran at about 70-percent speed Monday and took live batting practice Tuesday, MLB.com reports.

Haggerty, who was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday, is expected to do some sprinting Wednesday and appears to be trending toward activation this weekend. Cody Freeman and Michael Helman have helped fill Haggerty's role as a right-handed bench bat.

Ginn allowed one run on five hits and a walk while striking out two in five innings Tuesday against the Rangers. He did not factor into the decision.

Ginn held the Rangers scoreless through three innings before Adolis Garcia broke through in the fourth with a solo home run. Ginn otherwise kept the Texas offense at bay, though he was pulled after just 58 pitches. Ginn's strikeouts were notably down after he went into Tuesday's start donning an 11.2 K/9. He presumably pitched well enough to get another crack at starting and tentatively lines up to make another start this weekend against Houston.

Garcia went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's win over the Athletics.

Garcia got the Rangers on the board with a solo blast to center in the fourth inning. He now has four homers in his last nine games and is up to 14 for the season. Heading into the All-Star break, Garcia hit safely in 12 of 13 games, but he has tallied just three hits while striking out eight times in 19 at-bats since games resumed last weekend.

Thomas (foot) is doing baseball activities but is progressing "a little slower" than originally hoped, MLB.com reports.

Thomas, who was placed on the 10-day injured list retroactive to July 5, received an injection during the All-Star break. This is his third stint on the IL this season and second because of the foot.
