  • Keegan Akin RP | BAL

Orioles' Keegan Akin: On assignment through weekend

Akin (shoulder) is scheduled to make his next rehab appearance Saturday with Triple-A Norfolk, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Akin kicked off his rehab assignment earlier this week in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League, tossing one scoreless inning in his lone appearance before shifting his assignment to Norfolk. The lefty reliever gave up two runs (one earned) on one hit in his appearance for the Triple-A club Wednesday and will stick around with Norfolk through the weekend. If Akin checks out fine following Saturday's outing, the Orioles could reinstate him from the 15-day injured list early next week.

  • Orioles' Seranthony Dominguez: Candidate for saves

Dominguez is a candidate for save chances while Felix Bautista (shoulder) is out, although interim manager Tony Mansolino indicated Thursday that he doesn't think he'll have a set closer, Brendan Mortensen of MASNSports.com reports.

Dominguez notched 10 saves for the Orioles last season after being acquired at the trade deadline and has added two more saves this season. The 30-year-old has posted a 3.40 ERA with 51 strikeouts over 39.2 frames in 2025, but walks (24) have been an issue. Andrew Kittredge, Gregory Soto and Yennier Cano could also be in the mix for saves while Bautista is sidelined, but Dominguez is the guy to target on the waiver wire.

  • Orioles' Jacob Stallings: Resting for day game

Stallings is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Guardians.

After starting behind the plate in both of the past two games, Stallings will get a breather as the Orioles wrap up their series in Cleveland with a matinee. Alex Jackson will handle catching duties for Baltimore on Thursday.

  • Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Exiting lineup Thursday

Mullins is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Guardians.

Mullins will join fellow left-handed hitters Colton Cowser and Ryan O'Hearn on the bench as the Guardians send southpaw Logan Allen to the bump for the series finale. With Mullins out of the lineup, Dylan Carlson will pick up the start in center field.

  • Colton Cowser CF | BAL

    Orioles' Colton Cowser: Idle Thursday

Cowser is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Guardians.

Cowser will join fellow left-handed hitters Ryan O'Hearn and Cedric Mullins on the bench as the Orioles stock up on extra right-handed bats to counter Guardians southpaw Logan Allen. Ramon Laureano will serve as Cowser's replacement in left field.

  • Tyler O'Neill RF | BAL

Orioles' Tyler O'Neill: Back in lineup Thursday

O'Neill (general soreness) will start in right field and bat fifth in Thursday's game versus the Guardians.

O'Neill missed a couple games due to general soreness, but he's feeling well enough to give it a go in Thursday's series finale. The 30-year-old outfielder has gone just 5-for-33 at the plate in nine contests this month since returning from a shoulder issue.

  • Ryan O'Hearn 1B | PIT

Orioles' Ryan O'Hearn: Taking seat Thursday

O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Guardians.

Coby Mayo gets the start at first base in place of the left-handed-hitting O'Hearn, who will head to the bench for the series finale while the Guardians send lefty Logan Allen to the hill. Fresh off his first All-Star Game appearance, O'Hearn has gone 4-for-19 with a home run, a walk, three RBI and two runs through his first six games of the second half.

  • Kade Strowd RP | ARI

Orioles' Kade Strowd: Rejoins big-league bullpen

The Orioles recalled Strowd from Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday.

He'll join the 26-man active roster as a replacement for right-hander Felix Bautista (shoulder), who was placed on the injured list. Strowd has yielded two runs in 4.1 frames with the Orioles this season and holds a 4.15 ERA and 41:15 K:BB over 34.2 innings at Norfolk.

  • Felix Bautista RP | BAL

Orioles' Felix Bautista: Out with shoulder discomfort

The Orioles placed Bautista on the 15-day injured list Thursday with right shoulder discomfort.

Bautista was unavailable to pitch during Wednesday's 3-2 loss to Cleveland due to an undisclosed injury, and the Orioles have now revealed that the closer's shoulder is bothering him. Per interim manager Tony Mansolino, Bautista will undergo an MRI on Friday to determine the severity of the injury, according to Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com. Bautista's name has come up in trade rumors, but the injury likely means he's staying put ahead of the July 31 deadline. Seranthony Dominguez is the favorite to receive the bulk of the save chances for Baltimore while Bautista is shelved, although Mansolino indicated Thursday that he'll play matchups late in games, Brendan Mortensen of MASNSports.com reports.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ATL

Guardians' Carlos Santana: Resting up Thursday

Santana is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Orioles.

Santana will get a standard veteran rest day while the Guardians and Orioles close out their four-game series with a matinee contest. With Santana on the bench, Kyle Manzardo will cover first base, while Jose Ramirez gets a day out of the infield and serves as the Guardians' designated hitter.
