Joyce said Friday that he underwent shoulder surgery in May to repair his labrum, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Joyce hasn't pitched since April 8 and has already been ruled out for the remainder of the 2025 season. He said it remains to be seen if he'll be ready for the start of spring training next February. The hard-throwing right-hander produced a 6.23 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 1:1 K:BB across 4.1 innings of work prior to being shut down with the injury earlier this season.

Jones (back) is not in the starting lineup for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.

Jones won't be in Friday's lineup but could be back Saturday depending on how his back feels. The 24-year-old prospect was bumped up to Triple-A in late June and has raced out to a strong start with a 1.407 OPS with six steals, 13 home runs and 25 RBI in 94 plate appearances.

Soler (back) is not in the Angels' starting lineup against the Mariners on Friday, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Soler will sit for a second consecutive game due to back soreness that flared up during Wednesday's game against the Mets. Chris Taylor will start in right field and bat eighth in Soler's absence, though the latter could be available off the bench to pinch hit.

Manager Tony Mansolino said Friday that Rutschman (oblique) will catch the next two games at Triple-A Norfolk and could be reinstated soon after, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

An earlier report stated there was a possibility that Rutschman would return Friday, but he'll need at least a few more days before rejoining the Orioles. Rutschman hasn't appeared in an MLB game in over a month due to a strained left oblique. He's played in two rehab games so far, going 1-for-6 with a double, two walks and a strikeout.

The Rangers activated Haggerty (ankle) from the 10-day injured list Friday, and he'll bat leadoff and DH in Friday's game against Atlanta, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Haggerty will return to the active roster after missing the minimum 10 days on the injured list due to ankle inflammation. The 31-year-old is slashing .250/.329/.375 in 144 plate appearances this season. Cody Freeman was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move.

Henderson is not in the Orioles' starting lineup against the Rockies on Friday, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Henderson will get a rest day, with Jackson Holliday shifting over to shortstop and Jordan Westburg starting at second base. Henderson has slashed .277/.324/.462 with four steals, one home run and seven RBI in 70 plate appearances since the beginning of July.

Stallings is not in the Orioles' starting lineup against the Rockies on Friday, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Stallings will sit for a second consecutive game while Alex Jackson serves behind home plate and bats ninth. Stallings has struggled at the plate this season and has gone 3-for-30 (.100) since the beginning of July.

The Orioles selected the contract of Jackson from Triple-A Norfolk on Friday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Jackson takes the spot on the MLB roster vacated by Gregory Soto after he was traded to the Mets earlier Friday. Jackson started the season in Double-A but was promoted to Triple-A last month. He's slashed .377/.398/.682 with 11 home runs, 22 RBI, 28 runs scored and eight stolen bases since the promotion. Jackson is still waiting to make his MLB debut.

Manager Aaron Boone said Friday that there's "probably a good chance" Gil (lat) will make another rehab start before being activated from the injured list, Max Goodman of NJ.com reports.

Gil is feeling good after making his third rehab start Wednesday, when he threw 3.1 innings at Double-A Somerset. Still, the Yankees are considering keeping GIl on assignment for another start. The 26-year-old hasn't pitched in an MLB game this season due to a high-grade lat strain.

The Rangers optioned Freeman to Triple-A Round Rock on Friday, Matthew Postins of SI.com reports.

Sam Haggerty (ankle) is back from the 10-day IL, so Freeman will return to the minors. Freeman made his MLB debut earlier this month and appeared in four games with Texas, slashing .143/.143/.286 with one RBI, two runs scored and a 0:2 BB:K across seven plate appearances.
