Moore (thumb) has started baseball activities, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Moore was called up by the Angels from Triple-A Salt Lake in mid-June and played in 18 games for the big club before landing on the IL in early July due to a left thumb sprain. His return to baseball activities is an encouraging sign, and the 23-year-old will look to progress enough in his recovery to swing a bat.

Holman (shoulder) has been shut down from throwing due to a mild strain in his right middle finger, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Holman landed on the Athletics' 15-day injured list June 16 due to rotator cuff tendinitis in his right shoulder before being transferred to the 60-day IL in mid-July. He's eligible to be reinstated from the IL in mid-August, though his latest setback will likely delay the 25-year-old's return to the majors.

Muncy is dealing with a hairline fracture at the base of the fourth metacarpal on his right hand, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reported Friday.

Initial X-rays on Muncy's hand didn't reveal any significant injuries, but further evaluation revealed he's dealing with a hairline fracture. The infielder was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, but Friday's update could mean a longer absence is in store.

The Rays designated Waguespack (undisclosed) for assignment Friday.

Waguespack has been on the injured list at Triple-A Durham since June 9, and he'll yield his spot on the 40-man roster Friday as the Rays get Jonny DeLuca (shoulder) back from the 60-day IL. Waguespack logged a 0.46 ERA in 19.2 innings with Durham before sustaining the unspecified injury.

The Rays placed Kim on the 10-day injured list Friday due to a low back strain, retroactive to Tuesday.

Kim left Monday's game against the White Sox due to lower-back tightness, and he will go on the IL after missing the Rays' last three games. It's the 29-year-old's second stint on the IL this season after he missed the first half of the year while recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, plus a calf injury in early July has limited him to just 10 games with the Rays this year. Kim did go through a pregame workout before Friday's contest against the Reds, so he could be facing a short stint on the IL. The Rays reinstated Jonny DeLuca (shoulder) from the 60-day IL in a corresponding move.

DeLuca had been on the shelf since April 8 due to a right shoulder strain, an injury that was initially expected to sideline DeLuca for 2-to-4 weeks before he suffered multiple setbacks. The 26-year-old's return will bump Jacob Waguespack from the 40-man roster, while Ha-Seong Kim (back) heads to the IL.

Leclerc (lat) will undergo shoulder surgery and will miss the remainder of the 2025 season, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Leclerc was diagnosed with a lat strain in April, which was initially labeled as shoulder soreness. There hadn't been any updates on his status since, but he'll be unable to return in 2025 after undergoing surgery. Leclerc appeared in just 10 games with the Athletics in 2025, posting a 6.00 ERA and an 8:5 K:BB over nine innings. It's unclear if his recovery will linger into the 2026 campaign.

Naylor is starting at first base and batting out of the cleanup spot against the Angels on Friday.

Naylor will make his Mariners debut one day after being traded by the Diamondbacks. The 28-year-old slugger, who has an .807 OPS with 11 steals, 11 home runs and 59 RBI this across 392 plate appearances this season, is expected to take over as the everyday starter at first base.

The Mariners optioned Mastrobuoni to Triple-A Tacoma on Friday.

Mastrobuoni will lose his spot on the 26-man roster now that Josh Naylor (recently traded) has reported to the club. Mastrobuoni has slashed .252/.327/.293 with the Mariners and had recently been splitting time with Ben Williamson at third base.

Higashioka (hamstring) is not in the Rangers' starting lineup against Atlanta on Friday.

Higashioka will be sidelined for a second consecutive game due to a mild hamstring strain that he suffered during the Rangers' win over the Athletics on Tuesday. Jonah Heim will serve behind home plate and bat seventh.
