Mets' Aidan Smith: Headed to Queens

The Mets acquired Smith, infielder Emilien Pitre and right-hander Gary Gill Hill from the Rays on Sunday in exchange for right-hander Freddy Peralta, Mark Feinsand and Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com report. A 2023 fourth-round pick by the Mariners, Smith was sent to the Rays in 2024 in the Randy Arozarena trade and is now on the move once again. Smith has spent most of this season at the Double-A level, where he's struggled to a .215/.283/.410 slash line with 10 home runs, 14 steals and a 32 percent strikeout rate in 49 games.
