The Red Sox transferred Guerrero (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Guerrero landed on the injured list in late June with a strained right elbow, and his move to the IL will ensure he remains on the shelf until at least Aug. 27. He'll also cede his spot on the 40-man roster to Nick Burdi (hip), who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Saturday and optioned to Triple-A.

The Red Sox reinstated Burdi (hip) from the injured list Saturday and optioned him to Triple-A Worcester.

A bruised foot caused Burdi to land on the injured list June 3, but a hip injury suffered at Worcester caused him to move to the 60-day IL. He'll now come off the IL following a minimum-length stay, though the Red Sox will keep him in the minors for the time being. The 32-year-old has thrown 5.1 shutout innings for Boston this season and sports a 1.23 ERA through 22 Triple-A frames.

The Red Sox reinstated Kelly (oblique) from the injured list Saturday and optioned him to Triple-A Worcester.

The Red Sox originally sent Kelly down to the minors in late June, but his option was rescinded when he landed on the injured list with an oblique injury. Now that he's been given a clean bill of health, he'll head down to Triple-A once more and serve as organizational bullpen depth.

Urena will start Sunday's game against Cleveland, Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

The 33-year-old righty will be filling in for Simeon Woods Richardson, whom the Twins will give a few extra days of rest before his next start. Urena has pitched to a 5.40 ERA and 1.53 WHIP across 18.1 innings between the Dodgers, Mets and Blue Jays this season, and he'll likely aim to get through three or four frames Sunday before turning the game over to Minnesota's bullpen.

Woods Richardson will no longer start Sunday's game against the Guardians, Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

The Twins will give Woods Richardson a few extra days of rest after the 24-year-old opened the second half of the season with a 7.04 ERA and 2.09 WHIP through 7.2 innings over two starts. Jose Urena will take the mound to begin Sunday's contest instead; meanwhile, Minnesota has yet to announce when Woods Richardson will make his next start.

Jung (calf) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mariners.

Jung will take a third straight day off to recover from a sore calf. Josh Smith will pick up another start at third base as a result, with Rowdy Tellez starting at first.

The Rangers recalled Osuna from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.

With Evan Carter set to miss at least the next 10 days with back spasms, the Rangers will bring Osuna back into their outfielder room to fill the open roster spot. He has slashed an impressive .293/.473/.439 through 55 plate appearances in Triple-A, but he carries just a .517 OPS in the big leagues. The 22-year-old will get a chance to start during his first day back in the majors, but Sam Haggerty figures to receive the largest uptick in playing time until Carter returns.

The Rangers placed Carter on the 10-day injured list Saturday with back spasms.

Carter began having issues with his back after going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts Friday. The Rangers have determined his injury is severe enough to warrant a trip to the IL, so the 22-year-old will now remain on the sidelines until at least Aug. 12. Sam Haggerty is the likely candidate to pick up starts in center field while Carter is on the shelf, and Alejandro Osuna will come up from Triple-A Round Rock to replenish Texas' outfield depth.

The White Sox reinstated Scholtens (elbow) from the injured list Saturday and optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte.

Scholtens has been on the shelf all season while working his way back from the Tommy John procedure he underwent last March. He posted a 5.25 ERA and 1.31 WHIP over 36 innings between High-A and Triple-A during his rehab assignment, and he'll officially remain in Charlotte as organizational depth now that he's fully recovered.

Since being sent down to Triple-A in late June, White has allowed 11 runs (10 earned) over 17 innings across four starts. Despite his subpar performance, he'll come up from the minors to make up for the loss of Dan Altavilla (lat). White will presumably take on a long-relief role out of the bullpen.
