The White Sox placed Altavilla on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a right lat strain.

Altavilla gave up one run in just one-third of an inning during his appearance Friday, and it appears he came away from his outing with a lat injury. He'll now be forced to miss at least the next 15 days while he recovers, and the White Sox will bring up Owen White from Triple-A Charlotte to fill the void in their bullpen.

The Orioles claimed Noda off waivers from the White Sox on Saturday and optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Noda will keep a 40-man roster spot upon moving to the Orioles, though he will remain in the minors. The 29-year-old has gone just 3-for-34 in the big leagues this season but carries a .194/.390/.366 slash line through 236 plate appearances in Triple-A.

The Tigers optioned Hanifee to Triple-A Toledo on Saturday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

After giving up two runs (one earned) and taking the loss Friday, Hanifee will be sent down to the minors in order to make room for the newly acquired Charlie Morton. Hanifee still boasts a 3.10 ERA and 1.32 WHIP through 52.1 innings in 2025, making it likely he'll put on a Tigers uniform again before the end of the season.

O'Neill was scratched from the lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the Cubs due to an illness, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Gunnar Henderson will assume the role of designated hitter while O'Neill takes a day to recover, giving Luis Vazquez an opportunity to start at shortstop while batting ninth.

Mayer received an injection in his right wrist Saturday, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Mayer will be shut down from all activities for three days following his injection. Once they see how the 22-year-old responds to his treatment, the Red Sox will begin to plan out his next steps, which will likely involve him heading out on a minor-league rehab assignment at some point.

Pena (hamstring) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Red Sox, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Pena was pulled early from Friday's game after experiencing hamstring cramps during his at-bat in the 10th inning, and the Astros will give him an extra day to recover Saturday. Carlos Correa will shift to shortstop to cover for Pena, opening up third base for Ramon Urias.

Dubon isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Red Sox, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Dubon's five-game hitting streak was put to an end during Friday's loss, and he'll now retreat to the bench while Jose Altuve starts at the keystone Saturday.

Massey (wrist) was pulled off his rehab assignment due to a back injury, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Massey has already dealt with ankle and wrist problems this season, and his latest back issue will further delay his return from the injured list. He doesn't have a clear return timeline at the moment, but that may change once the Royals get a chance to evaluate him further.

Wells isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Marlins, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Wells will use Saturday to rest after going 1-for-5 with a run scored during Friday's high-scoring loss. While Wells sits, Ben Rice will catch for starter Cam Schlittler and bat sixth.

Polanco isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rangers.

After starting the second half 11-for-46 (.239) with two homers, six RBI and eight runs scored through 14 games, Polanco will get a chance to rest his legs Saturday. With the 32-year-old out, Cole Young will cover second base and Cal Raleigh will serve as the DH while Mitch Garver starts at catcher.
