  • Mariners' Robinson Ortiz: Optioned to Triple-A

The Mariners optioned Ortiz to Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday.

Ortiz spent the entire 2025 season in the minors before he was traded by the Dodgers to the Mariners in mid-November. The 26-year-old southpaw will not be on Seattle's Opening Day roster, but he could make his major-league debut in 2026 if the Mariners need additional depth out of the bullpen. In the minors last season, Ortiz posted a 2.73 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 72:33 K:BB across 59.1 innings.

  • Mariners' Robinson Ortiz: Traded to Seattle

Ortiz was traded from the Dodgers to the Mariners in exchange for minor-league pitcher Tyler Gough (elbow) on Sunday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Ortiz was just added to Los Angeles' 40-man roster Nov. 6, but he will now head to the Mariners organization. The left-hander began the 2025 campaign with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, but he was able to work his way all the way up to Triple-A Oklahoma City, posting a 2.76 ERA with 14 strikeouts over 15 appearances, including one start, with OKC. Ortiz will look to compete for a spot in the major-league bullpen when Seattle regroups at spring training in February.

  • Dodgers' Robinson Ortiz: Added to 40-man roster

The Dodgers added Ortiz to the 40-man roster on Thursday

Ortiz jumped up from High-A to Triple-A this season, and the young southpaw, who turns 26 in January, is now a part of the 40-man roster. He logged a 2.76 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP in 16.1 innings at Triple-A Oklahoma City in 2025.

  • Dodgers' Robinson Ortiz: Healthy again at Single-A

Ortiz (forearm) made his season debut for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday and has pitched in two games for the club, allowing one unearned run on two hits and three walks over three scoreless innings.

The 24-year-old southpaw once seemed to be one of the Dodgers' most promising lower-level pitching prospects, but his development has been stalled by injuries. His pair of appearances for Rancho Cucamonga were his first in affiliated ball since May 22, 2021, when he pitched for High-A Great Lakes. He was diagnosed with a forearm microfracture at some point thereafter and proceeded to miss the rest of that season, as well as all of the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

  • Dodgers' Robinson Ortiz: Out with forearm discomfort

Ortiz has been sidelined since late May with forearm discomfort, Kyle Glaser of Baseball America reports.

He registered a 0.77 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 12:13 K:BB in 11.2 innings with High-A Great Lakes prior to hitting the 7-day injured list. Per Glaser, Ortiz is rehabbing in Arizona but is without a timetable to return.

  • Dodgers' Robinson Ortiz: Will attend big-league camp

Ortiz received an invitation to the Dodgers' major-league spring training camp Tuesday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

Ortiz was signed out of the Dominican Republican in 2017 and has posted a 4.15 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 151:57 K:BB over 156 innings across three professional seasons. The southpaw has yet to pitch above A-ball and is unlikely to see the majors this season.
