Garcia (back) is expected to be available out of the bullpen for Monday's game against the Yankees, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.

Garcia suffered a mid-back spasm during his most recent appearance in Saturday's extra-inning win over the Mariners, resulting in him making an early exit. The 29-year-old underwent an MRI, which showed no structural damage. The reliever appears to have avoided any significant injury as a result and looks like he'll be ready to go for the series opener versus New York after getting Sunday off to recover.

Simpson (finger) felt healthy while taking swings in the batting cages Monday and expects to be ready to return for the second game of the series Tuesday against the Angels, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

Simpson will miss his fourth straight matchup Monday due to a lingering left finger injury, but a return is on the horizon. If all goes according to plan, the 24-year-old should see his name penciled into the starting nine Tuesday evening.

Osuna is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees.

Osuna was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday and started in left field in the Rangers' final two games of their series with the Mariners, going 1-for-5 with a walk. With Wyatt Langford shifting over to center field following Evan Carter's (back) placement on the injured list Saturday, the left-handed-hitting Osuna could occupy the strong side of a platoon in left field. Osuna will give way to the switch-hitting Sam Haggerty on Monday while southpaw Max Fried takes the hill for the Yankees.

Anthony was scratched from the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Royals due to an undisclosed injury, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

Anthony was removed from the starting nine minutes before first pitch, and the team has yet to provide more information on the reason behind his absence. Wilyer Abreu will bat third and man right field in Anthony's stead.

Abreu will start in right field and bat third Monday against the Royals, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

With southpaw Bailey Falter on the bump for Kansas City, the left-handed-hitting Abreu had been excluded from the Red Sox's initial lineup. However, after Roman Anthony was scratched prior to the 7:10 p.m. ET opening pitch, Abreu was a late addition to the starting nine. Abreu is slashing just .191/.269/.319 with with one home run in 53 plate appearances versus lefties this season.

Rice is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers.

After starting against a pair of right-handed pitchers to close out the Yankees' weekend series with the Marlins, the left-handed-hitting Rice will begin Monday's contest on the bench while southpaw Patrick Corbin toes the rubber for the Rangers. With Rice out of the lineup, Paul Goldschmidt will start at first base, Giancarlo Stanton will serve as the Yankees' designated hitter and Austin Wells will start at catcher.

Dominguez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers.

Dominguez is a switch hitter, but since he's slashing just .202/.280/.292 over 100 plate appearances versus lefties this season, he'll head to the bench Monday while southpaw Patrick Corbin starts for the Rangers. The right-handed-hitting Austin Slater will step in for Dominguez in left field.

Springer (concussion) is slated to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo on Wednesday, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.

Springer was hit in the head with a pitch July 28 and was placed on the 7-day Friday after he was diagnosed with concussion symptoms. He's made enough progress in his recovery to begin a rehab assignment, and barring any setbacks, he could rejoin the Blue Jays for their three-game weekend road series against the Dodgers. Springer was hot at the plate in the 11 games following the All-Star break, going 19-for-44 (.432) with two home runs, one steal, four RBI and 13 runs.

Gimenez (ankle) will begin his rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Gimenez is working through a left ankle sprain that led to him being placed on the 10-day injured list in early July. He has been given the green light to embark on a rehab assignment and could rejoin the Blue Jays' 26-man roster over the coming days barring any setbacks. Gimenez is slashing .218/.300/.322 with 10 steals, five homers and 23 RBI over 238 plate appearances this season.

Lowe is absent from the lineup for Monday's game versus the Angels.

The left-handed-hitting Lowe will begin Monday's festivities on the bench as the Angels send southpaw Yusei Kikuchi to the bump. Ha-Seong Kim is playing second base and batting second for the Rays on Monday.
