Simpson (finger) remains out of the lineup for Monday's contest against the Angels.

It's a fourth straight start that Simpson has missed after he suffered a left index finger sprain in Thursday's loss to the Yankees. The Rays are hopeful that the speedy outfielder will be able to avoid the 10-day injured list, but he'll need to make progress in a hurry. Jonny DeLuca is receiving another start in center field Monday.

The Twins claimed Hatch off waivers from the Royals on Monday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Hatch will officially join the Twins' active roster Tuesday before their game in Detroit. The right-hander has spent nearly all of the 2025 season at the Triple-A level, posting a 4.22 ERA and 78:28 K:BB over 91.2 innings covering 18 starts. Hatch could be used either in the Twins' rotation or in long relief.

Kayfus is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets.

After getting called up from Triple-A Columbus on Saturday, the left-handed-hitting Kayfus picked up starts in right field and at designated hitter for the final two games of the weekend while the Twins sent a pair of right-handers to the hill. Though he went just 1-for-8 with a double, an RBI and a run between those two contests, Kayfus will likely get an extended look in Cleveland's everyday lineup versus righties. The rookie will need to earn his playing time against lefties, however, so it's not especially surprising that he'll be on the bench Monday while southpaw Sean Manaea toes the rubber for the Mets.

Naylor is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets.

After starting behind the plate in each of the Guardians' last three games, the left-handed-hitting Naylor will get a breather Monday while the Mets send southpaw Sean Manaea to the hill. Austin Hedges will serve as Cleveland's catcher in the series opener.

Cruz got an injection in his right shoulder Monday and could be cleared to play catch early next week, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Cruz is working through shoulder tendinitis, which caused him to be placed on the Royals' 15-day injured list Sunday. Monday's injection was done to speed up the recovery process, and how his shoulder feels this week will determine when he takes the next step in his throwing program. Cruz posted a 3.61 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and seven holds over 42.1 innings this season prior to his injury.

Lorenzen (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Arkansas on Tuesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Lorenzen landed on the 15-day injured list prior to the All-Star break due to an oblique strain. He was cleared to throw bullpen sessions last week, and he is ready to take the next step in his throwing program by embarking on a rehab assignment. Lorenzen posted a 4.61 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 85:29 K:BB across 99.2 innings prior to his injury.

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said that Sewald (shoulder) was scheduled to play light catch on the field Monday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Sewald will be built back up slowly after he was diagnosed with a moderate teres major strain in mid-July. The Tigers acquired him via trade last and immediately shifted him to the 60-day injured list, which makes Sewald ineligible to return until Sept. 10.

Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino said Monday that Mountcastle will not be activated from the 60-day injured list during the team's series against the Phillies that runs through Wednesday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Mountcastle is slashing .391/.440/.783 with two home runs and three doubles in his first six rehab games with Triple-A Norfolk, but he will remain in the minors for the time being. The Orioles begin a homestand Friday, and Mountcastle seems to have a good chance to return to the active roster that day. He's been shelved since late May with a right hamstring strain.

Olson will not require surgery to repair his injured right shoulder, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

The hurler is still awaiting final word on his latest medical evaluation before a path for his rehab is determined, but the good news is that surgery will not be necessary. Olson has already been ruled out for the remainder of the regular season, but he hopes to be available at some point in October if the Tigers make a postseason run.

McMahon is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers.

McMahon will head to the bench for the first time since making his team debut July 26 and going 9-for-32 (.281average) with two doubles, five RBI and three runs through his first nine starts. Though he'll be taking a seat Monday while left-hander Patrick Corbin toes the rubber for the Rangers, the left-handed-hitting McMahon won't necessarily be used as a strict platoon player.
