Grisham is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rangers.

Grisham will head to the bench after going 3-for-9 with two home runs and four RBI during the Yankees' three-game weekend series against the Marlins. Austin Slater, Cody Bellinger and Amed Rosario will form the outfield left to right in Monday's series opener.

Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino said Monday that Rodriguez is scheduled to undergo right elbow debridement surgery early next week and will miss the rest of the season, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

On a positive note, Rodriguez won't be getting Tommy John surgery or any sort of procedure to address ligament damage, as the debridement surgery is designed to prevent future impingement issues in his elbow. Nevertheless, Rodriguez's health record is starting to become a major concern for his long-term outlook, as the 25-year-old also missed extensive time last season due to a lat strain and hasn't made an appearance at the big-league level since July 31, 2024. A firmer timeline for Rodriguez's recovery should be established once surgery is completed, but the right-hander will have a chance at being ready to go for the start of the 2026 season if all goes smoothly during the rehab process.

Astros general manager Dana Brown said Monday that Paredes received a platelet-rich plasma injection for his strained right hamstring and will treat the injury through rest and rehab in an attempt to return from the 10-day injured list later this season, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Brown noted that Paredes was given the option of undergoing surgery to address the severe hamstring strain or rehabbing the injury instead, and the 26-year-old opted for the latter route. Though surgery would likely provide a more permanent fix for his hamstring, a procedure would carry a recovery timeline of six-plus months, which would have put Paredes' availability for the start of the 2026 season in jeopardy. Even though Paredes will attempt to resume baseball activities once the PRP injection takes effect, the Astros' acquisitions of infielders Carlos Correa and Ramon Urias ahead of last week's trade deadline suggest that they aren't banking on Paredes providing much of a contribution down the stretch. The Astros are unlikely to put a timeline on Paredes' return from the IL until he begins taking part in full activities.

Grichuk is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox.

After being acquired from the Diamondbacks on July 26, Grichuk initially appeared set to get a look as a full-time player in Kansas City, but he may have fallen back into a short-side platoon role since the Royals traded for the lefty-hitting Mike Yastrzemski on Thursday. The right-handed-hitting Grichuk will be on the bench Monday for a third straight matchup versus a right-handed pitcher (Brayan Bello), as the Royals counter with a left-handed-hitting designated hitter (Adam Frazier) and an all-lefty outfield featuring John Rave, Kyle Isbel and Yastrzemski from left to right.

Rave will start in left field and bat eighth in Monday's game against the Red Sox.

Though he's gone just 3-for-26 at the plate since slugging two home runs in a July 18 contest, Rave will remain in the starting nine for a third straight game against a right-handed starting pitcher (Brayan Bello). Until the Royals get Jac Caglianone (hamstring) back from the injured list, Rave looks like he'll be part of an all-lefty outfield featuring some combination of Mike Yastrzemski, Kyle Isbel or Adam Frazier when Kansas City opposes right-handed pitching. The righty-hitting Randal Grichuk, meanwhile, looks as though he might have to settle for a short-side platoon role.

Frazier will start at designated hitter and bat seventh in Monday's game against the Red Sox.

Frazier will remain in the lineup for a seventh straight game after going 5-for-23 with a home run, a stolen base, four runs and three RBI. He's picked up starts at five different positions -- second base, third base, left field right field and now DH -- and should remain a fixture in the lineup against right-handed pitching, at least until Jac Caglianone (hamstring) returns from the injured list.

Dubon is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Dubon has been a near-everyday player for Houston since about mid-May, but he could fade into more of a part-time role after the Astros got Jeremy Pena back from the injured list Friday and acquired Jesus Sanchez, Ramon Urias and Carlos Correa on Thursday. The 31-year-old utility player will head to the bench Monday for the second time in three days.

Higashioka is not in the lineup for Monday's tilt against the Yankees.

Higashioka started both of the previous two contests and five of the last six games, but he'll take a seat in Monday's series opener. Jonah Heim will handle catching duties and will bat eighth for the Rangers.

Jung (calf) will start at designated hitter and bat sixth in Monday's game versus the Yankees.

Jung missed each of the previous four contests with a sore calf, but he's feeling well enough to at least serve as a hitter in Monday's series opener. The 27-year-old is slashing .367/.424/.567 with two home runs in nine games since being recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on July 21.

The Rays outrighted Thaiss to Triple-A Durham on Monday.

He's no longer on the 40-man roster, but Thaiss will accept an outright assignment and remain in the organization as catching depth.
