  • Luis Medina SP | ATH

Athletics' Luis Medina: Earns first win Thursday

Medina (1-1) earned the win Thursday against Kansas City. He allowed three hits and two walks while striking out one over 2.2 scoreless innings of relief.

Entering for Jeffrey Springs (hip) in the fourth inning, Medina allowed some traffic but ultimately earned the win. After primarily operating as a starter across 149.2 regular-season innings in 2023 and 2024, the right-hander has worked exclusively out of the bullpen in 2026 after missing all of 2025 while recovering from Tommy John surgery. Through nine appearances, Medina owns a 2.13 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and an 11:7 K:BB across 12.2 innings.

  • Daulton Varsho CF | TOR

Blue Jays' Daulton Varsho: Belts fourth homer

Varsho went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Twins.

The center fielder took Bailey Ober deep in the fourth inning, but it was all the offense Toronto could manage on the night. Varsho snapped a 12-game homer drought with the blast, and on the season he's slashing .235/.312/.408 with four long balls, two steals, eight RBI and 12 runs in 29 contests.

  • Blue Jays' George Springer: Two knocks in first start back

Springer went 2-for-4 in Thursday's loss to the Twins.

Back in his usual spot at DH and hitting leadoff in his first start since coming off the IL, Springer banged out a couple singles and was the only Blue Jay to record multiple hits in the contest. The 36-year-old has three hits in six at-bats since recovering from a fractured toe, and he wraps up the month of April with a .237/.341/.316 slash line through 44 plate appearances with zero homers, one steal, two runs and four RBI in 11 games.

  • Travis Adams P | MIN

Twins' Travis Adams: Activated and optioned

The Twins activated Adams (triceps) from the 15-day injured list Thursday and optioned him to Triple-A St. Paul.

Adams has been shelved all season with a triceps injury but has made five rehab appearances, allowing six runs with an 8:3 K:BB over six innings. The last three of those outings came at St. Paul, and the Twins will keep him there rather than put him on the big-league roster.

  • Zach McKinstry 3B | DET

Tigers' Zach McKinstry: Begins rehab assignment

McKinstry (hip) went 0-for-3 with a strikeout Thursday in his first rehab game with Single-A Lakeland.

McKinstry has been cleared for game action after missing the past two weeks with left hip/abdominal inflammation. He didn't play a full game Thursday, and the Tigers likely want him to do that before he's activated, but McKinstry could return to Detroit's active roster as soon as next week.

  • Darell Hernaiz SS | ATH

Athletics' Darell Hernaiz: Provides three-hit game

Hernaiz went 3-for-4 with two RBI in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Royals.

Hernaiz continued his recent hot stretch, reaching base three times on infield singles, with each hit contributing to a run -- including one that scored due to an error. The third baseman's approach has paid off lately, as he's batting 6-for-19 (.316) over his last six games. On the season, Hernaiz is slashing .256/.341/.333 with four RBI and three runs scored across 45 plate appearances.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Records three XBH Thursday

Garcia went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, two doubles and an additional run scored in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Athletics.

Garcia put together one of his best performances of the season, doubling in the first inning and coming around to score, then launching a solo homer off Jeffrey Springs in the second before adding another double in the fourth. The homer was his first since April 11 and helped snap a recent slump in which he was hitting just .180 with two RBI over his previous 13 games. Garcia is now slashing .274/.341/.442 with three homers, eight doubles, 11 RBI and 17 runs scored across 126 plate appearances.

  • Jack Perkins P | ATH

Athletics' Jack Perkins: Locks down fourth save

Perkins earned the save Thursday against the Royals, allowing one hit while striking out one over a scoreless ninth inning.

Perkins entered the ninth with a three-run lead and worked around a leadoff single by Jac Caglianone to secure the win. The Athletics leaned on their bullpen again after Jeffrey Springs exited early with hip soreness, and Perkins delivered as the final piece. It was his fourth save in his last five appearances, and he's now gone 9.1 consecutive innings without allowing a run. The right-hander owns a 2.70 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and a 17:3 K:BB on the season.

  • Royals' Noah Cameron: Settles in late during loss

Cameron (2-2) took the loss Thursday against the Athletics, allowing five runs (four earned) on nine hits and two walks while striking out five over 5.1 innings.

Cameron ran into trouble early, surrendering nine baserunners in the first two innings that led to his five runs. The southpaw was sharper after that, retiring 11 of his final 13 batters to limit further damage, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome. Cameron still showed some swing-and-miss ability, generating 14 whiffs on 93 pitches, though he continues to struggle with run prevention. Over his last four starts, he has allowed 20 runs (17 earned) across 21 innings, pushing his season line to a 5.40 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 28:11 K:BB in 31.2 innings. Cameron is scheduled to face Cleveland in his next outing.

  • Ryan Jeffers C | MIN

Twins' Ryan Jeffers: Belts homer Thursday

Jeffers went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in a 7-1 win against Toronto on Thursday.

The veteran backstop opened the scoring for Minnesota with a two-run blast off Kevin Gausman in the fourth inning. The long ball extended Jeffers' hitting streak to six games, during which he's batting .364 (8-for-22) with two home runs, six runs, eight RBI and a stolen base. The 28-year-old has been a productive part of the Twins' lineup throughout the season, slashing .291/.411/.494 with four homers, 17 runs, 20 RBI and a theft through 24 contests.
