Austin Martin RF | MIN
Twins' Austin Martin: Emerging as top left fielder
Martin will start in left field and bat second in Wednesday's game against the Angels.
Martin will cover left field for the fourth straight game and appears to have emerged as the Twins' preferred option at the position over James Outman. Since the start of September, Martin has slashed .385/.484/.462 with two doubles, a 5:4 BB:K and six runs.

J.J. Bleday LF | CIN
Athletics' JJ Bleday: Drawing rare start versus lefty
Bleday will start in left field and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
The Athletics are facing a left-handed starter (Payton Tolle) for the fifth consecutive game, and though the left-handed-hitting Bleday was held out of the lineup in each of the previous four contests, he'll draw into the starting nine Wednesday while Tyler Soderstrom gets a day off. Bleday looks as though he'll continue to be deployed mostly in the strong side of a platoon in right field with Colby Thomas until Denzel Clarke (hip) potentially returns from the injured list in late September.

Tyler Soderstrom LF | ATH
Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: Sitting for matinee
Soderstrom is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
For the fifth consecutive game, the Athletics are facing off against a left-handed starter (Payton Tolle), and though the left-handed-hitting Soderstrom started in each of the previous four contests, he'll take a seat Wednesday. JJ Bleday will cover left field in Soderstrom's stead.

Lawrence Butler RF | ATH
Athletics' Lawrence Butler: Idle against lefty
Butler is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.
For the fifth consecutive game, the Athletics are facing off against a left-handed starter (Payton Tolle), and though the left-handed-hitting Butler started in three of the previous four contests, he'll take a seat Wednesday. Colby Thomas will cover center field in Butler's stead and will bat cleanup.

Jo Adell RF | LAA
Angels' Jo Adell: Cleared to start Wednesday
Adell (illness) will start in right field and bat cleanup in Wednesday's game against the Twins, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
Adell looks ready to play Wednesday after missing the first two games of the series due to a case of vertigo, which first cropped up during Sunday's 4-3 win over the Athletics. However, because Adell was initially listed in the lineup both of the past two days before being scratched, those planning on using the outfielder in daily moves leagues or DFS contests will want to ensure he's still on track to play as the 4:07 p.m. ET first pitch approaches. The 26-year-old's progression as a power hitter has been a welcome sight in an otherwise underwhelming season for the 68-77 Angels, as Adell will heads into Wednesday's contest with a .243/.303/.507 slash line to go with 35 home runs and 94 RBI across 469 plate appearances.

Nolan Schanuel 1B | LAA
Angels' Nolan Schanuel: Aiming to return next week
Schanuel (wrist) is hoping to be activated from the 10-day injured list next week during the Angels' road trip, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Schanuel will travel to the Angels' spring training complex in Arizona on Wednesday to ramp up his baseball activities. If that goes well, it appears he might skip a rehab assignment and rejoin the Angels' active roster sometime next week. Schanuel has been sidelined for nearly three weeks due to a bone bruise on his left wrist.

Jose Urena SP | LAA
Angels' Jose Urena: Drawing spot start Wednesday
Urena will start Wednesday's game against the Twins, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
The Angels have decided to give Urena a spot start so that their regular rotation members can have some extra rest. Urena struck out six over five scoreless frames in an extended relief outing last Friday versus the Athletics in his first appearance for the Halos. Unless the Angels decide to switch to a six-man rotation down the stretch, Urena will likely shift to long relief after Wednesday's outing.

Ceddanne Rafaela CF | BOS
Red Sox's Ceddanne Rafaela: Receiving rare day off
Rafaela is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.
Rafaela will hit the bench for the first time since Aug. 19, ending a streak of 19 consecutive starts for the 24-year-old. Considering he's posted a lowly .536 OPS over that 19-game stretch and has gone 1-for-22 with seven strikeouts over his last six starts, Rafaela likely stands to benefit from the break.
-
Jose Soriano SP | LAA
Angels' Jose Soriano: Pushed back to Thursday
Soriano will make his next start Thursday in Seattle, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
Soriano had been lined up to start Wednesday's series finale versus the Twins, but he will receive an extra day of rest after he had his worst start of the season his last time out, allowing eight runs over 2.1 innings in a loss to the Athletics this past Friday. Jose Urena worked five shutout innings of long relief behind Soriano on Friday and will now be called upon to make a spot start Wednesday.

Carlos Narvaez C | BOS
Red Sox's Carlos Narvaez: Getting afternoon off
Narvaez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.
After starting behind the plate in the first two games of the series in Sacramento, Narvaez will receive a breather for Wednesday's matinee. Connor Wong will draw the start at catcher, forming a battery with starting pitcher Payton Tolle.
