  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Tigers' Javier Baez: Added to lineup Tuesday

Baez (personal) was added to the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins.

Baez had been out of the Tigers' lineup since Saturday following the death of his grandfather. He's expected to officially go on the bereavement list at some point, but the 30-year-old will start at shortstop and bat sixth Tuesday versus the Twins and right-hander Sonny Gray.

  • Ronny Mauricio 2B | NYM

Mets' Ronny Mauricio: Set for work at third base

The Mets are planning to begin a rotation with Mauricio at Triple-A Syracuse in which he will play second base, shortstop and third base, probably twice a week at each position, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Mauricio has made 41 starts at second, 26 in left field and 25 at shortstop so far this season, but he has yet to appear at third base. He will soon get reps at the hot corner as the Mets move him away from outfield duties and get him familiar at a position of need at the major-league level. Overall, the 22-year-old is batting .289/.338/.479 with 16 homers and 19 steals in 97 games with Syracuse this season.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Tigers' Javier Baez: Absent from lineup

Baez (personal) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins.

It's the third straight game that Baez has been out of the lineup following a death in the family, although he did pinch hit in Sunday's contest. The Tigers have not made a roster move involving Baez and at this point it's possible they won't. Zack Short is playing shortstop Tuesday.

  • Bo Bichette 3B | NYM

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Nearly symptom-free Monday

Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins said in an interview on MLB Network on Tuesday that Bichette (knee) was "moving around with very few symptoms, almost not at all" during a workout Monday, Ben Wagner of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Bichette resumed baseball activities a few days ago and looks to be ramping things back up with encouraging results as he works his way back from patellar tendinitis in his right knee. Toronto has not provided a timetable for the star shortstop's return, but if things continue to trend in the right direction, there seems to be a chance Bichette can be activated when first eligible Friday or shortly thereafter.

  • Ezequiel Duran 2B | TEX

Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Starts at hot corner

Duran started at third base and went 0-for-3 in Monday's 5-3 win over Oakland.

Duran filled in at third base in the first game following Josh Jung's thumb injury. It was announced Monday that Jung will miss at least six weeks, and Duran is expected to be part of the fill-in solution along with Josh Smith. Duran's .514 OPS in 19 games since the All-Star break, however, stands in stark contrast to a productive first half when he posted an .870 OPS with 12 home runs and 35 RBI in 70 games.

  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

Twins' Carlos Correa: Goes yard in win

Correa went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer, a double, four RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 9-3 win over the Tigers.

Correa got the best of Joey Wentz on Monday, with a run-scoring double in the first inning and an opposite-field three-run shot in the second. Correa snapped a 16-game homer drought, during which he hit just .154 (10-for-65) with six RBI and three runs scored. On the season, the 28-year-old shortstop is now slashing .224/.297/.458 with 13 homers, 52 RBI and 41 runs scored through 102 games.

  • Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL

Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Only source of offense Monday

Tovar went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's 12-1 loss to the Brewers.

Tovar got the Rockies going with a first-inning blast, but Freddy Peralta and two relievers would combine to retire the next 26 Colorado batters in order. Tovar snapped a 10-game homer drought with his blast, which was his 11th of the season. The rookie shortstop has added a solid .253/.286/.416 slash line with five stolen bases, 50 RBI, 51 runs scored, 24 doubles and three triples over 105 contests in a near-everyday role.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Suffers forearm injury

Anderson was removed from Monday's game against the Yankees due to a bruised left forearm. He's considered day-to-day after X-rays came back negative.

Anderson was hit by a pitch in the third inning and managed to remain in the game for his next at-bat, but he was ultimately pulled in the eighth. The White Sox will likely re-evaluate the shortstop Tuesday to determine his availability going forward. Anderson is also facing a six-game suspension for his role in a fight with Cleveland's Jose Ramirez on Saturday, but he's eligible to play in games after appealing the ban.

  • Pablo Reyes RF | SD

Red Sox's Pablo Reyes: Delivers walk-off shot

Reyes went 3-for-4 with a grand slam, a double, three runs scored and a stolen base in Monday's win over the Royals.

Reyes' first homer of the year was a two-out, walk-off grand slam Monday. It was his first three-hit game of the year and first multi-hit game since June 19. Reyes had gone just 1-for-7 since being reinstated from the injured list in late July. For the year, he's slashing .312/.357/.416 with six extra-base hits and 13 RBI through 85 plate appearances.

  • Giants' Brandon Crawford: On bench against southpaw

Crawford is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.

Crawford will join fellow left-handed hitters Joc Pederson and LaMonte Wade on the bench while the Giants stock up on some extra right-handed bats to counter Angels southpaw Patrick Sandoval. Mark Mathias and Thairo Estrada will serve as the Giants' starters in the middle infield while Crawford sits.
