Bichette (quadriceps) was spotted running sprints at Coors Field on Sunday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The 25-year-old has been out nearly a week with a strained right quadriceps, and his quick return to running is an encouraging sign for his recovery. Bichette is eligible to return from the 10-day injured list Friday, and manager John Schneider previously indicated the shortstop could be ready to be activated at that point.

Williams is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Williams seems to have faded into a part-time role of late, as he'll take a seat for the fourth time in seven games. With Williams on the bench, the Pirates will roll with Liover Peguero and Vinny Capra as their starters in the middle infield.

Volpe went 1-for-3 with a double, two walks, a stolen base and a run against the Astros in a 5-4 victory Saturday.

Volpe was one of two Yankees to reach base thrice in the win, and he scored the team's second run after drawing a walk in the second inning. The rookie shortstop added a double in the third and another walk that was piggybacked by a swipe off third base in the fifth. Volpe's effectiveness on the basepaths has tailed off as the season has progressed -- he went 13-for-13 on theft attempts through his first 41 contests but is just 9-for-14 over 94 games since. However, he's maintained a steady role as New York's starting shortstop and has been one of the AL's top rookies with a .218/.296/.409 slash line, 20 homers, 57 RBI, 54 runs and 22 steals over 504 plate appearances on the campaign.

Duran is out of the lineup Sunday against Minnesota.

Duran will take a seat after going 0-for-11 with four strikeouts across his last three games. Josh Smith will draw the start at third base Sunday and bat eighth.

Paris went 1-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base in Saturday's loss to Oakland.

Paris collected his first major-league hit with a fifth-inning leadoff single, and he quickly proceeded to record his first theft. The rookie infielder also drew a walk in the seventh, marking the fourth time through eight plate appearances that he's reached base (one hit, two walks and a hit-by-pitch). Paris could be an impactful base stealer if he continues to find ways to make it to first, as he recorded 44 thefts in 50 attempts in the minors this season prior to being promoted.

Reds manager David Bell said Sunday that McLain (oblique) will be out for another 2-to-3 weeks, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

McLain landed on the 10-day injured list Monday with a right oblique strain, and while his return doesn't appear imminent, the Reds aren't yet dismissing the possibility of the rookie playing again before the end of the season. Spencer Steer has been filling in as the Reds' second baseman in place of McLain, while Elly De La Cruz has settled in as the team's primary shortstop.

Baez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

While dealing with general soreness, Baez sat out three straight games before he returned to the lineup for Saturday's 10-0 win, during which he went 0-for-3 with a walk. The Tigers haven't indicated that Baez suffered a setback in his return, so his move to the bench Sunday may be for maintenance purposes more than anything else. Zack Short will step in for Baez at shortstop.

Turner went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a second run scored and two stolen bases in Saturday's 7-5 loss to the Brewers.

The shortstop extended his hitting streak to 13 games with yet another impressive effort, and over that stretch Turner is slashing .357/.383/.929 with nine of his 21 homers and three of his 25 steals on the season. The 30-year-old has now posted his third straight 20-25 season, and he has yet to be caught stealing in 2023 -- in fact, he's nabbed 30 straight bags dating back to last September. Turner's career 85.9 percent success rate on the basepaths is the second-highest of all time among players with more than 200 attempts, behind only Carlos Beltran's 86.4 percent mark.

Winn is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Tommy Edman will handle shortstop duties in the series finale after Winn manned the position in each of the past five games. While the long-term future remains bright for the 21-year-old rookie, he's gotten off to a slow start to his big-league career with a .170/.188/.213 slash line through his first 49 plate appearances for St. Louis.

Arias went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer and two runs scored in Saturday's 7-6 victory over the Rays.

Arias singled in his first at-bat before adding a two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth to put the Guardians up 4-1. He's now racked up multiple hits in back-to-back games and in four of his last eight, adding five RBI over that latter stretch to go along with nine runs scored. On the downside, the utility man has also struck out 12 times over his last nine games while drawing only one walk.
