The Angels designated Soto for assignment Monday.

Soto was claimed off waivers by the Angels on Feb. 18 after being DFA'd by the Orioles two days prior. He was then optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake towards the end of spring training, where he has slashed .214/.324/.286 with two doubles, three RBI and one stolen base over 35 plate appearances. Should Soto clear waivers, he'll look to catch onto another organization in need of a left-handed bat and infield depth.

Perez was recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Monday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Perez has a .782 OPS with one homer and four steals this season with Toledo and will be making his major-league debut in the event he gets into a game. The 24-year-old has past experience in the infield but has moved to the outfield full-time in 2024.

DeJong is absent from the lineup for Monday's game versus the Guardians, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

DeJong and Braden Shewmake have been sharing shortstop for the White Sox this season. It will be Shewmake at short in this one for the second straight contest.

Volpe went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and scored two runs in Sunday's 8-3 victory versus Toronto.

Volpe has been swinging a hot bat to start the season, as he's slashing .424/.486/.606 through 37 plate appearances. The 22-year-old has also swiped three bags in four attempts and has scored nine times while knocking one homer and driving in three runs. Volpe worked to flatten his swing during spring training, and the results so far are promising considering that he hit just .209 as a rookie last year.

Pena went 1-for-4 with a stolen base Sunday against the Rangers.

Pena has had a strong start to the season, posting three extra-base hits -- including two homers -- across his first 38 plate appearances. He added his first stolen base of the campaign Sunday after being caught on his initial attempt March 31. Pena was successful on the basepaths only 13 times on 22 attempts in 2023, but it appears he still has the green light.

Adames went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Mariners.

Adames took Emerson Hancock deep to left in the fourth which wound up knocking the 25-year-old pitcher from the game. It's now his second home run in his last three games, as he now has 82 home runs since 2021 which is the most by any shortstop in the majors. Adames has been seen the ball exceptionally well early on, slashing .300/.400/.533 with a 5:4 BB:K in 35 plate appearances.

Lindor went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Reds.

Lindor entered the game mired in a 1-for-31 slump but doubled that hit total Sunday, including driving a 2-1 fourth-inning pitch from Andrew Abbott over the left field wall for his first home run of the season. After posting his fourth 30-home-run season and first 30/30 campaign last year, it was only a matter of time before Lindor would break out of his early-season slumber.

Hamilton went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's win over the Angels.

Hamilton's solo shot in the third inning was the first of four on the day for the Red Sox. It was his season debut after starting the year with Triple-A Worcester. He posted a .750 OPS with two long balls there before the promotion. He should continue seeing some big-league playing time with Trevor Story (shoulder) out.

De La Cruz went 0-for-2 with a walk and stole two bases in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Mets.

De La Cruz saw an end to his eight-game hit streak to the start the season, but he managed to make an impact. He stole the two bases after a sixth-inning walk but was left stranded at third. The infielder ranks fifth in MLB with five steals.

DeJong is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Kansas City.

DeJong started the first two games of the series but will head to the bench for Sunday's finale after going 1-for-6 with a double and three strikeouts. Braden Shewmake will receive the start at shortstop as the pair continue to split playing time.
