Orlando Arcia SS | MIN
Braves' Orlando Arcia: Not starting Friday
Arcia isn't in Atlanta's lineup Friday against Washington, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Atlanta was able to lock up home-field advantage throughout the postseason Thursday, so the team will give Arcia a day off Friday to keep him fresh for the NLDS. Nicky Lopez will start at shortstop and bat eighth while Arcia sits.

Bobby Witt SS | KC
Royals' Bobby Witt: Closing in on 50-steal season
Witt went 0-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Thursday's 7-3 loss to the Tigers.
Witt's quest for 50 steals this season has him at 49 so far, but he's been caught three times over his last eight games while going hitless in four contests. The shortstop has also struck out seven times in that span after a stretch with just one strikeout in 11 games. In addition to the high-end production on the basepaths, Witt's recorded a .273/.315/.487 slash line with 29 home runs, 93 RBI and 94 runs scored over 155 games in his second MLB campaign.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Expected to return for finale
Crawford (hamstring) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Sunday's game against the Dodgers, Maria Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Crawford was placed on the IL on Sept. 21 with a right hamstring strain, but he's pushing to return for the season finale. Assuming he endures no setbacks with his hamstring and is activated Sunday, he could be making the final start of his 13-year tenure with the Giants. The 36-year-old is set to become a free agent this winter, and while he has yet to decide whether he wants to continue playing in 2024, if he chooses to forgo retirement he likely won't have much of a market after producing a lowly .595 OPS over 316 plate appearances thus far in 2023. Marco Luciano and Casey Schmitt figure to be the top options to replace Crawford at shortstop next season.

J.P. Crawford SS | SEA
Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Laces game-winning hit Thursday
Crawford went 2-for-5 with a game-winning two-run double in a victory over the Rangers on Thursday.
Crawford's ninth-inning double plated Cal Raleigh and Dylan Moore with the tying and winning runs, keeping the Mariners' postseason hopes alive. The veteran shortstop's career-high RBI total now stands at 61, and he's posted a .281 average, .926 OPS, 17 extra-base hits and 22 RBI over the 150 plate appearances he's logged in what is now a month-plus hot streak at the dish.

Bo Bichette 3B | NYM
Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Another multi-hit day

For the fifth time in his last nine games, Bichette corralled multiple hits, while he also swiped his fifth bag of the campaign Thursday. Over that nine-game stretch, Bichette is 12-for-39 (.308) with two homers, two stolen bases and eight runs scored.

Miguel Rojas SS | LAD
Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: On bench Thursday
Rojas is out of the lineup Thursday versus the Rockies.
Chris Taylor will play shortstop and bat sixth in the Dodgers' series finale at Coors Field. Rojas went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 8-2 victory over Colorado, but he carries a rough .238/.289/.324 season slash line in 420 total plate appearances.

Liover Peguero SS | PIT
Pirates' Liover Peguero: Sitting amid struggles
Peguero is not in the lineup Thursday against the Phillies.
Nick Gonzales will start at shortstop and bat eighth versus the Phillies and right-hander Zack Wheeler. Peguero, 22, is slashing just .157/.181/.200 with two walks and 26 strikeouts over his last 72 plate appearances.

Nick Allen SS | HOU
Athletics' Nick Allen: Hits second career triple Wednesday
Allen went 1-for-3 with a triple and a walk in a loss to the Twins on Wednesday.
Allen's three-bagger was the second of the season and his career, and it extended a brief but encouraging stretch of the plate for the young shortstop. The 24-year-old has hit safely in four consecutive starts, going 5-for-13 with a pair of walks and two runs in addition to Wednesday's three-bagger across 15 plate appearances in that span.
