The Brewers optioned Arcia to minor-league camp Monday.

Arcia is the Brewers' top prospect, and he impressed the coaching staff this spring, but he has never played above the Double-A level, and the Brewers want him to see some action with their Triple-A squad before he joins the big league club. Sending Arcia to the minors also allows the club to conserve his service time, but once the Brewers are sure they will not owe Arcia an extra year of arbitration, they figure to be much more apt to call him up.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts is optimistic that Seager (knee) will be ready for Opening Day, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Seager's timetable to return is 1-to-2 weeks, and landing on the longer side of that would give him only a week to prepare for the everyday shortstop role. If he needs to miss some time in order to get ready, Enrique Hernandez would get some starts at shortstop in the opening stages of the season. The Dodgers have little else beyond Seager and Hernandez at that position, so they're definitely hoping Roberts' optimism is correct.

Seager has been diagnosed with a mild knee sprain and is expected to miss 1-2 weeks, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports.

While it sounds like the MRI results were generally positive, Seager will be sidelined for a little bit, and his Opening Day availability could be threatened if his recovery pushes closer to two weeks. The Dodgers do not have much depth at the shortstop position; expect Enrique Hernandez to see most the time in Seager's absence.

Seager will undergo an MRI on his left knee Saturday, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The 21-year-old tweaked the knee Friday, leading to his early exit from the game, though the Dodgers said his removal was strictly precautionary. Seager will undergo additional testing to see if there's anything more serious there, and prospective owners may want to downgrade him slightly until more information becomes available. Enrique Hernandez is the primary backup at shortstop for the Dodgers.

As expected, Seager will sit after tweaking his left knee during Friday's spring game. The Dodgers labeled Seager's removal precautionary and have not suggested he will be sent for additional tests, but we will monitor this issue until it's firmly behind him.

Martinez (head) was reassigned to minor league camp Saturday.

He has not played in the big leagues since 2011, and is likely ticketed for Triple-A Norfolk to serve as organizational depth in the middle infield. Martinez is also recovering from getting hit in the head by a liner in a Grapefruit League game earlier this week.

Seager (knee) is unlikely to play Saturday after tweaking his left knee, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

The Dodgers are going to take absolutely no chances with a player that is penciled in as both their Opening Day shortstop and a long-term building block. Expect Seager back only when he is feeling 100 percent. The 21-year-old hasn't seen many highlights in spring training so far, going just 2-for-11 with a double, but that shouldn't be a concern given the sample size and lack of importance with his at-bats.

Seager was removed from Friday's spring game with slight tightness in the back of his left leg, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

The team is calling his removal precautionary. Prior to exiting, Seager went 1-for-2 with a single off the Angels' Nick Tropeano, giving him three hits in 13 at-bats so far this spring. He is expected to play exclusively at shortstop for the Dodgers this season.

Tejada will likely split time at shortstop with Wilmer Flores while Asdrubal Cabrera (knee) is out, Adam Rubin of ESPN reports.

This is nothing new for Tejada, who split the starting shortstop position with Flores for most of the 2015 season. Both are right-handed and share a similar hitting and fielding profile, so the decision on which to use will rest on which way Terry Collins is leaning. Rubin also notes that there was some trade chatter around Tejada before Cabrera's injury, so that might be something to keep an eye on when Cabrera is healthy again.

Sardinas is battling a tight calf muscle and won't play in Friday's game, the Tacoma News-Tribune's Bob Dutton reports.

It sounds like a very minor issue, as Dutton reports that Sardinas should be back in action Saturday. Sardinas can play both middle infield spots well, and can also play third base in a pinch, which is giving him the leg up on the competition to break camp as the Mariners' utility infielder.
