Anderson will sit Sunday against the Angels.

Anderson is making a push for the American League batting title and currently holds a slight lead (.334 to 328) over DJ LeMahieu. He's been excellent since mid-August, hitting .392/.404/.627 over his last 23 games. He'll get a break Sunday, with Danny Mendick starting at shortstop.

Gordon went 3-for-3 with an RBI triple and a stolen base in a loss to the Astros on Saturday.

Gordon was the sole source of run production for the Mariners and did his damage out of the No. 9 spot in the order. The speedy veteran is swinging a blazing bat in September, with Saturday's production bringing his monthly line to 10-for-21 with a double, Saturday's three-bagger, four RBI, three steals and three runs over five games.

DeJong went 1-for-4 with a two-run double, a stolen base and a run in a win over the Pirates on Saturday.

DeJong's seventh-inning two-bagger plated Marcell Ozuna and Kolten Wong to extend the Cardinals' lead to 8-1. The slugging shortstop has hit safely in six consecutive games and already has seven RBI over eight September games thanks in part to a pair of home runs in addition to Saturday's double.

Crawford (hamstring) continues to demonstrate improvement and could return at some point during the Mariners' upcoming homestand that begins Tuesday, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

The news on Crawford has been trending in the right direction this week, with this latest report seemingly giving him a chance to suit up at some point over the coming homestand that wraps up next Sunday. Manager Scott Servais indicated that the rehab reports he's gotten on Crawford from Seattle have been positive, although in absence of any postseason aspirations, the Mariners are likely to err on the side of caution with respect to the promising shortstop.

Diaz started at first base for a second straight game and went 1-for-2 with two walks in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Mariners.

Diaz will fill in for the injured Yuli Gurriel, who suffered a hamstring injury Thursday and will be out through at least Sunday. Diaz is expected to be the primary fill-in while Gurriel recovers.

Mondesi went 0-for-5 but stole a base in a 7-2 victory over the Marlins on Saturday.

Since returning from a shoulder injury last Sunday, Mondesi has swiped six bags in six games. Unless he suffers another injury, Mondesi should easily reach 40 steals, and at 88.1 percent, he has one of the best stolen-base percentages in the league as well. Mondesi is batting .265 with seven home runs, 54 RBI, 51 runs and 37 steals in 362 at-bats this year.

Chang is not in the lineup Saturday against the Twins.

Chang is hitting just .235/.350/.294 in 12 games this season. He'll sit in favor of Mike Freeman at the hot corner.

An MRI revealed a hairline fracture on Baez's left thumb Saturday, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Baez suffered the injury on a slide Sunday. He'll be examined by a specialist Monday, at which point a timeline will be determined. It's not yet clear if he has a chance to return before the end of the season or for the playoffs. Addison Russell appears to be the primary shortstop in his absence.

Baez is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Brewers, Bruce Miles of the Chicago Daily Herald reports.

Baez underwent an MRI on his ailing left thumb Saturday. The results of that test have not been disclosed, so his status for the rest of the road trip is up in the air. Addison Russell is starting at shortstop Saturday with David Bote at second base.

Wendle won't start Saturday against southpaw Anthony Kay and the Blue Jays, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Wendle owns a strong .314/.359/.514 slash line in 11 games since returning from a wrist injury. Matt Duffy will get the start at the hot corner.
