Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Getting Friday off
Henderson isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Athletics, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Bryce Rainer SS | DET
Tigers' Bryce Rainer: Done for 2025
Rainer will undergo season-ending surgery after dislocating his right shoulder during Single-A Lakehead's win over Daytona on Tuesday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
The 19-year-old shortstop suffered the injury while diving back to first base on a pick-off attempt. After receiving multiple opinions, the injury was determined to be severe enough to necessitate surgery, but Rainer is expected to be fully healthy for the start of spring training. He'll end the season with a .294/.383/.452 slash line with nine steals, five home runs and 22 RBI across 149 plate appearances in Single-A.

Francisco Lindor SS | NYM
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Out of lineup Friday
Lindor (toe) isn't part of the starting nine for Friday's game against the Rockies.
Lindor is dealing with a broken right pinkie toe and isn't expected to require a stint on the injured list. However, he's not feeling well enough to start Friday, so Ronny Mauricio will fill in at shortstop. It's unknown when Lindor will be back in action, as it's entirely up to his pain tolerance. Per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, manager Carlos Mendoza said Friday that he wouldn't be surprised if Lindor returned sometime this weekend.

Xander Bogaerts SS | SD
Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Back in lineup
Bogaerts (shoulder) is starting at shortstop and batting sixth against the Brewers on Friday.
Bogaerts was out of the lineup against the Giants on Thursday while nursing a sore left shoulder. However, the issue doesn't appear to be a serious one as he's back in the lineup for Friday's series opener. The veteran shortstop has slashed .233/.311/.311 with seven steals, two home runs and 13 RBI across 119 plate appearances since the beginning of May.

Orlando Arcia 3B | COL
Rockies' Orlando Arcia: On bench Friday
Arcia is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Mets.
Arcia had made four consecutive starts -- two at shortstop, one at third base and one at second base. However, he'll get a breather Friday as Ryan Ritter makes his MLB debut and plays shortstop.

Trey Sweeney SS | DET
Tigers' Trey Sweeney: On bench again Friday
Sweeney is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Cubs.
It's the fourth absence in Detroit's past six games for Sweeney, who appears to have fallen out of a regular role with the Tigers getting the likes of Parker Meadows and Wenceel Perez back from the injured list over the past couple weeks. Zach McKinstry and Javier Baez have both received starts at shortstop over the last week, with Baez getting the nod Friday while McKinstry mans third base. Sweeney has been unable to get on track offensively this season with a .222/.279/.312 slash line through 60 games.

Ryan Ritter SS | COL
Rockies' Ryan Ritter: Set for MLB debut
The Rockies selected Ritter's contract from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.
Ritter will make his MLB debut Friday, batting sixth and playing shortstop against the Mets. The 23-year-old will have an opportunity to see consistent playing time right away, as the Rockies placed starting shortstop Ezequiel Tovar (oblique) on the 10-day injured list. Ritter has slashed .305/.413/.635 with 16 homers in 245 plate appearances at Triple-A this season.
-
Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL
Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Placed on IL
The Rockies placed Tovar (oblique) on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to June 3.
Tovar injured his left oblique Monday and hasn't appeared in a game since, and he will now require a stint on the injured list. The Rockies selected Ryan Ritter's contract from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday to provide some depth at the shortstop position. Tovar is slashing .258/.301/.406 with three homers in 138 plate appearances this season.

Xavier Edwards 2B | MIA
Marlins' Xavier Edwards: Tossed Friday
Edwards was ejected from Friday's game against the Rays after arguing a runner interference call in the third inning, Stephen Strom of Marlins Radio Network reports.
Edwards collided with Jonathan Aranda at first base trying to beat out a bunt and was thrown out of the game for his reaction to somewhat questionably being called for interference. Edwards finishes the game 0-for-2. Javier Sanoja will take over for Edwards at second base.
