Crawford (wrist) went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 4-1 win over the Guardians.

Crawford opened the scoring with a second-inning blast off Guardians starter Zach Plesac. This was Crawford's first extra-base hit through six games this season. He's also added two walks and two runs scored. The shortstop should play regularly, though he may need to get some rest if the wrist injury flares up again.

Edman went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in a 10-1 win Friday over Milwaukee.

Edman homered off Jose Urena in the fifth inning to give the Cardinals an 8-0 lead. He has now hit safely in all six of his games this season and has four extra-base hits. After batting leadoff for the majority of last season, the 26-year-old has hit ninth in all but one start this season. However, Edman's 1.350 OPS is hard to ignore and could warrant some upward movement in the lineup if he continues to hit well.

Lindor went 2-for-3 with two homers, two walks, three RBI, three runs scored and a steal in Friday's 10-3 win against Arizona.

Lindor hit a two-run homer to chase Zach Davies from the game in the fifth inning and added a solo shot off Caleb Smith in the eighth. He's been on a tear through his first eight games, hitting .296/.457/.704 with three homers, two steals and more walks (seven) than strikeouts (five).

Baez's thumb remains swollen Friday, but X-rays were negative so he could be available Saturday, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Baez said Friday that he initially jammed his thumb while celebrating the Tigers' Opening Day win and that the issue got worse following a recent swing. He's been scratched from the lineup both Wednesday and Thursday and will be unavailable again Friday against the Royals, but his absence could be nearing its end if his thumb responds well to treatment.

DeJong isn't starting Friday's game against the Brewers, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

DeJong started in each of the first five games of the season, and he hit .176 with a homer and two RBI. However, he'll get a breather while Edmundo Sosa starts at shortstop and bats eighth Friday.

Chang was placed on the injured list for an unspecified reason Friday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Chang didn't appear in any of the last three games, and he'll now be sidelined with an undisclosed injury. A timetable for Chang's return to action isn't yet clear.

Nelson (undisclosed) was activated from the 7-day minor-league injured list Friday, Matt Kardos of MLB.com reports.

Nelson began the regular season on the IL, but he'll now be available to make his 2022 debut. After spending the last three seasons at the High-A level, he's been assigned to Double-A Somerset this year.

Crawford was unavailable Wednesday against the Padres due to a wrist injury, but he'll be back in action following a one-game absence. The 35-year-old has gone 3-for-16 with a run, two walks and two strikeouts in his first five appearances of the year.

Strange-Gordon (illness) was placed on the injured list Friday, Matt Weyrich of NBC Sports Washington reports.

Strange-Gordon was scratched from Thursday's lineup due to an illness, and he'll be forced to spend some time away from the team. If the 33-year-old was placed on the COVID-19 IL, he'll be eligible to return as soon as he tests negative. Victor Robles should have an even stronger grip on playing time in center field in the meantime, while Donovan Casey was recalled from Triple-A Rochester.

Watson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a second run scored for Low-A Jupiter in Thursday's game against Fort Myers.

The Marlins' top fantasy prospect has been locked in to begin the season, slashing .391/.440/1.043 through six games with seven of his nine hits (three doubles and four homers) going for extra bases. Watson's even 1-for-1 on stolen base attempts. The performance becomes even more impressive when you consider it's his first time in full-season ball, and he doesn't turn 19 until Saturday. Watson's 2:10 BB:K is cause for concern if it doesn't improve, but he did post an 8:7 mark in 42 plate appearances at rookie ball last year after being selected with the 16th overall pick in the 2021 Draft, so there is reason to think his plate discipline will improve. If he keeps raking, Watson will force a promotion to High-A over the summer in addition to racing up prospect rankings.
