Watson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a second run scored for Low-A Jupiter in Thursday's game against Fort Myers.

The Marlins' top fantasy prospect has been locked in to begin the season, slashing .391/.440/1.043 through six games with seven of his nine hits (three doubles and four homers) going for extra bases. Watson's even 1-for-1 on stolen base attempts. The performance becomes even more impressive when you consider it's his first time in full-season ball, and he doesn't turn 19 until Saturday. Watson's 2:10 BB:K is cause for concern if it doesn't improve, but he did post an 8:7 mark in 42 plate appearances at rookie ball last year after being selected with the 16th overall pick in the 2021 Draft, so there is reason to think his plate discipline will improve. If he keeps raking, Watson will force a promotion to High-A over the summer in addition to racing up prospect rankings.

Mondesi went 0-for-3 with two stolen bases, a run and a walk in a 4-2 loss Thursday against Detroit.

Mondesi reached on a force play in the second and walked and scored in the fourth, stealing a base in both cases. The speedy shortstop now has three stolen bases on the season, all of them coming in the last three games. After spending the majority of his time at third base last season, the 26-year-old has started at short in every game in 2022, hitting seventh in the lineup in all but one game.

Edman went 1-for-2 with a solo home run Thursday against the Brewers.

Edman provided the lone offensive production for the Cardinals when he took Jandel Gustave yard in the eighth inning. He has swung a hot bat to begin the season, as he has now collected at least one hit in each of his five starts. Edman also has two home runs, two RBI and three runs scored early on in the campaign.

Abrams went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in a 12-1 victory over the Braves on Thursday.

Abrams enjoyed a special moment when he slammed a long ball to left field in his first MLB home at-bat in the second inning. The rookie shortstop made an out in each of his other four plate appearances, however, lowering his average to .105 on the season. There's little doubt about Abrams' immense talent, but he's mostly struggled thus far in his first taste of the big leagues.

Seager went 2-for-4 with a home run, walk and three RBI in a 10-5 win Thursday over the Angels.

Seager hit a two-run home run in the fourth and a RBI single in the fifth. It was his first home run as a Ranger. The two-time All-Star signed a 10-year, $325 million contract in the offseason and has started strong with four multi-hit games in the first six contests of the season.

Baez (thumb) will not be in Friday's lineup against the Royals, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Baez was originally in the lineup Thursday, though he experienced discomfort in his thumb and was subsequently scratched. He'll focus on treatment Friday, with the potential for a Saturday return. Harold Castro started at shortstop and hit eighth in Baez's absence, and he is likely to occupy the same position Friday.

Strange-Gordon was scratched from the lineup due to an illness Thursday against Pittsburgh, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Strange-Gordon was set to start in center field, though he was instead forced to stay at the team hotel. Manager Davey Martinez declined further comment but did say the team would make a decision about a potential roster move Friday. If Strange-Gordon were to remain sidelined moving forward, Victor Robles would likely have a more secure grip on playing time while Lucius Fox may also shift up the depth chart.

Baez was scratched from the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals due to right thumb soreness.

Baez was initially slated to return to action Thursday, but he'll ultimately be a late scratch for a second consecutive day. Harold Castro will start at shortstop and bat eighth, while Baez should be considered day-to-day.

Strange-Gordon was scratched from the lineup for Thursday's game against the Pirates for an undisclosed reason.

Strange-Gordon was initially slated to start in center field, but Lane Thomas will now bat eighth as the starting center fielder. It's not yet clear why Strange-Gordon was removed from the lineup or whether he'll be available off the bench.

Baez (thumb) is starting Thursday's game against the Royals.

Baez was scratched from Wednesday's lineup against Boston due to right thumb soreness, but he'll be back in action following a one-game absence. In his first five appearances this year, he's gone 6-for-19 with a homer, a double, four RBI, a walk and four strikeouts.
