Edman went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a double, three RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's Game 2 win over the Cubs.

Edman launched a solo home run off Anderson Espinoza in the top of the sixth inning before later ripping a two-run double and coming around to score again in the ninth. The long ball was his ninth of the year and second in his last seven games. Since Aug. 10, Edman has hit .200 with two homers, five RBI, nine runs and two stolen bases over 40 at-bats in 11 games.

Manager Alex Cora said Bogaerts (back) will be out of the lineup Wednesday against the Blue Jays, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Bogaerts went 0-for-2 with a walk Tuesday before exiting the contest with mid-back spasms, and he'll be held out of the starting nine for at least one game. Tommy Pham also left with back spasms Tuesday, so the Red Sox are expected to make a roster move to add a position player, though it's unclear if either Bogaerts or Pham will require a trip to the injured list.

Mateo went 1-for-3 with a stolen base and an RBI in a 5-3 win Tuesday over the White Sox.

Mateo drove in a run with a single and stole second base in the seventh inning. It was his 28th stolen base of the season and first since Aug. 11. The 27-year-old has exploded in August, posting a .338/.390/.606 line with 10 extra-base hits and 17 RBI in 20 contests. After striking out in 32.5 percent of his first 277 plate appearances, the shortstop has struck out in just 18.8 percent of his last 133 trips to the plate.

Bogaerts was removed from Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays with mid-back spasms, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Bogaerts went 0-for-2 with a walk before exiting the contest during the seventh inning. It's unclear if the injury will affect the 29-year-old's availability for Wednesday's matchup with Toronto.

Baez went 2-for-4 with a run scored in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Giants. He also stole a base.

Baez and rookie Riley Greene were the only Detroit players with multiple hits, and Baez was the only one to score. He also stole his eighth base of the season in nine attempts. The shortstop entered the contest hitless in his past three games, and he's still hitting just .224 with a .636 OPS this year. He batted .265 with an .813 OPS for the Cubs and Mets in 2021 while also stealing 18 bases, so he's clearly taken a step back in his first season with the Tigers.

Reyes was recalled from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.

Reyes has appeared in four games across multiple stints in the majors this year, and he's gone 4-for-14 with a walk and a run scored. The 29-year-old could quickly head back to the minors since Jace Peterson (elbow) is on a rehab assignment and may return from the injured list this week.

DeJong is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cubs, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

DeJong started the past five games and will take a seat after going 0-for-2 with a walk during the Cardinals' loss in Game 1. Tommy Edman will shift to shortstop in the nightcap while Brendan Donovan receives a start in the infield.

Berti is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game at Oakland, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Berti started the past five games and will receive a day off after going 5-for-20 with two doubles, an RBI and a run during that stretch. Luke Williams will man the keystone and bat ninth Tuesday for Miami.

Astros general manager James Click said Sunday that he expects Diaz (groin) to miss "a few weeks," Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Click's comments would seem to imply that Diaz, who was placed on the 10-day injured list last Wednesday, won't be ready to go when first eligible to rejoin the Astros this weekend. While Diaz is on the shelf, Yordan Alvarez is expected to pick up more work in left field, which will open up more frequent starts at designated hitter for trade-deadline pickup Trey Mancini.

Velazquez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rays.

Interim manager Phil Nevin is clearing a spot in the lineup for Jose Rojas at third base Tuesday, so Velazquez will take a seat while Luis Rengifo handles the keystone and David Fletcher shifts to shortstop. Velazquez had manned shortstop for each of the past three contests, going 5-for-9 with a solo home run and a double.
