Allen is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Marlins.

Allen started the past 17 games, including six straight following the release of veteran Elvis Andrus, but the 23-year-old will head to the bench for Tuesday's contest. Sheldon Neuse will take over at shortstop and bat ninth.

Cruz is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Atlanta.

Even after popping a home run in Monday's 2-1 loss, Cruz is still sitting on a .191/.258/.404 slash line since the All-Star break. In light of the rookie's ongoing struggles, the Pirates will likely look to limit his exposure to left-handed pitching. With southpaw Max Fried on the bump for Atlanta, the lefty-hitting Cruz will cede his spot in the middle infield to Rodolfo Castro.

Story (wrist) will report to Double-A Portland on Wednesday to begin a rehab assignment, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Story was cleared to resume game action for the first time since July 12 after he was able to take batting practice Tuesday without any renewed discomfort in his fractured right wrist, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports. The Red Sox haven't specified how long Story's rehab assignment will last, but he'll presumably need multiple games to regain his timing at the plate and get comfortable in the field again after being sidelined with the injury for the past five weeks.

Edman is not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Cubs, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Edman will get a breather in the matinee Tuesday after he went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Monday's win. Nolan Gorman will shift over to second base while the red-hot Albert Pujols starts at designated hitter and bats sixth in Game 1.

Correa went 2-for-3 with a triple and a walk in Monday's loss to the Rangers.

After a mini slump where he went 3-for-20 over his last five games, Correa broke out with two hits and a walk Monday, including his first triple of the season. The multi-hit effort was his first since Aug. 14 and bumped his season-long slash up to .269/.352/.431. While the triple was just his third extra-base hit in August, his .424 SLG is lagging well behind his xSLG of .471 this season, indicating positive power regression may be coming.

Witt went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Monday's 6-4 win over the White Sox.

Witt has gone nine games without a multi-hit effort, batting just .182 (6-for-33). He's added a home run, two steals, three RBI and three runs scored in that span. The rookie infielder is slashing .250/.293/.431 with 16 homers, 24 steals in 28 attempts, 60 RBI and 60 runs scored through 113 contests overall.

Cruz went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's loss against Atlanta.

The rookie shortstop provided all of the offense for Pittsburgh Monday with a solo shot against Jake Odorizzi in the fifth inning. The round tripper was Cruz's 10th on the season and first since Aug. 6. The 23-year-old had been mired in a slump as he hit just .128 in 39 at bats leading up to Monday's bout with Atlanta which moved his average under the Mendoza line. Hopefully the homer is a sign of better things to come.

Rojas isn't starting Monday against the Athletics, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Rojas is in the midst of a slump in which he's gone 0-for-14 with three strikeouts over his last four games. He'll retreat to the bench Monday while Joey Wendle shifts to shortstop with Charles Leblanc entering the lineup at second base.

Marcano went 1-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored Sunday against the Reds.

Marcano remains a fairly regular presence in the Pirates' lineup, and his start Sunday was notable because it came with lefty Mike Minor on the mound. Marcano delivered a two-RBI double in the sixth inning, his third extra-base hit in his last seven games. Overall, he's still hitting only .221/.280/.336 across 136 plate appearances on the season.

Atlanta reinstated Adrianza (illness) from the 10-day injured list Monday.

The club designated infielder Ryan Goins for assignment to clear room on the active roster for Adrianza, who should step back in as Atlanta's top utility infielder. The role is unlikely to translate to steady playing time for Adrianza, who is expected to play sparingly while Atlanta leans heavily on the likes of Dansby Swanson, Vaughn Grissom and Austin Riley in the infield as the team aims to chase down the Mets for the National League East crown.
