Trevor Story SS | BOS
Rockies' Trevor Story: Adds another chapter to the never-ending Story
Story went 3-for-5 with another pair of home runs and four RBI in a losing cause against the Padres on Friday night.
The Rockies know the story can't go on like this forever, but they will certainly enjoy it while it does. The talk of the baseball world, the rookie shortstop is hitting .368 with an amazing six home runs and 11 RBI to start the season. The league will likely discover a hole in his swing at some point, and Jose Reyes will eventually return from suspension, but playing half of his games in Colorado and being red hot, he can continue to contribute in a big way for now.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Cubs' Javier Baez: Cleared to play in extended spring training
Baez (thumb) has been cleared to play in extended spring training, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.
A pitch buzzed Baez's helmet during a recent game in Arizona, forcing 23-year-old to the bench for several days and costing him key at-bats in his rehab from a thumb injury. Baez is expected to miss the home opener as a result, but once he's healthy, Baez could come up to serve in a super-utility role on a Cubs team now without Kyle Schwarber (knee).

Chase d'Arnaud SS | SF
Braves' Chase d'Arnaud: Starts 1-for-3 after slow spring
D'Arnaud went 1-for-3 with a 1:2 BB:K in Triple-A Gwinnet's first game of the season against Norfolk on Thursday.
D'Arnaud was a fringe MLB player heading into spring training, but a 1-for-16 spring kept him off of Atlanta's Opening Day roster. He isn't even on the 40-man roster, and it would take a number of injuries for that to change, so it seems unlikely he'll make an appearance in the majors this season.

Chris Owings SS | LAD
Diamondbacks' Chris Owings: Should continue to get playing time in center
The Diamondbacks have "no urgency" to get help in center field, meaning Owings, who is out of Friday's lineup, should continue to get time there, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
With the injury to regular center fielder A.J. Pollock, Owings has started three of the team's first four games in center, despite having not played there before in the majors. Socrates Brito is expected to split time with Owings, though he has just one start so far. Expect Owings to continue to get regular playing time in center while Pollock is out.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Cubs' Javier Baez: Questionable for Monday's home opener after HBP
Baez (thumb) might not be ready for the Cubs' home opener on Monday due to a hit by pitch he took to the helmet, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.
There's no word Baez sustained a significant head injury, nor has there been any indication that the hit by pitch affected his thumb, so this is a momentary setback at worst. If he has to miss the home opener, he'll get an extra day of rest before Chicago's Wednesday game against the Reds.

Dee Strange-Gordon SS | WAS
Marlins' Dee Gordon: Second straight three-hit effort Wednsesday
Gordon logged his second-straight three-hit effort Wednesday in a loss to the Tigers.
The speedy shortstop has six hits over the Marlins' first two games including two doubles and one triple to go along with one RBI and a pair of runs scored. He has yet to successfully swipe a base, and was caught once on Wednesday, but Gordon is certainly swinging a hot stick out of the gates.
