  • Chris Owings SS | LAD

Diamondbacks' Chris Owings: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Owings is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.

Owings started the last two games and has started five of the Diamondbacks' seven games this season, but he will get the day off Tuesday with Socrates Brito starting in center field. The two will continue splitting the center field duties in Arizona moving forward.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Cubs' Javier Baez: Will see 20-25 at-bats in Triple-A

Cubs manager Joe Maddon said Baez (thumb) will likely get 20-to-25 at-bats at Triple-A Iowa before returning from the DL, Patrick Mooney of CSN Chicago reports.

Baez will be in the lineup at third base Monday night for Triple-A Iowa. The 23-year-old was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left thumb contusion March 29 after jamming it during a slide in a spring training game on March 17. Once healthy, Baez has a clearer path to playing time, as the Cubs are looking for help in left field following the season-ending knee injury to Kyle Schwarber last week.

Cubs' Javier Baez: Joins the lineup at Triple-A Iowa

Baez (thumb) is in the lineup at Triple-A Iowa at third base Monday, Tommy Birch of the Des Moines Register.

He's expected to see time in the outfield with Iowa in the coming days as well. With the season-ending knee injury to Kyle Schwarber last week, the Cubs have more flexibility in their lineup, which could open up time for Baez once he's healthy enough to be activated from the disabled list.

  • Marlins' Dee Gordon: Collects another multi-hit effort Sunday

Gordon went 2-for-4 with a triple and one run scored in Sunday's loss to the Nationals.

Gordon has tallied three multi-hit games in four contests this season while slashing a robust .421/.450/.737 through the opening week. He was, however, caught stealing for the second time Sunday afternoon and is 0-for-2 in stolen base attempts this season. Owners who drafted Gordon's elite speed may be frustrated with the early results, but the fact that he's attempted a pair of swipes in the first four games is encouraging. He'll continue to get a green light on the base paths and should begin to pile on the thefts quickly.

  • Orlando Arcia 2B | MIN

Brewers' Orlando Arcia: Records first three-hit game at Triple-A

Arcia went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored in a game with Triple-A Colorado Springs on Sunday.

Arcia is facing Triple-A pitching for the first time in his career, and he is seeing it well early, going 5-for-16 (.313) through four games. He is the Brewers' top prospect and could be called up at some point this summer, but the team has not provided much of a hint in terms of when that will be.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Rockies' Trevor Story: Continues epic home run tear

Story continued his home run tear Sunday, blasting a solo shot versus the Padres. He also worked a walk in the 6-3 win.

The rookie is slugging at an exceptional clip to start his major league career, as Sunday's performance boosted his season OPS to 1.468 through six games. He continues to thrive in the middle of a potent lineup, and owners who were swift enough to scoop him up at the start of the year have been handsomely rewarded.

  • Zach Walters SS | KC

Dodgers' Zach Walters: Traded to Dodgers

Walters was acquired by the Dodgers on Sunday in exchange for cash considerations.

Walters, who will begin his tenure with the club in Triple-A Oklahoma City, will provide organizational depth at the infield positions. The Dodgers' infield is occupied by reliable veterans at the moment, and will become even more crowded once Howie Kendrick (calf) returns from the DL, so Walters doesn't necessarily have a clear path to the majors at this time.

  • Nick Ahmed SS | TEX

Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Not in Sunday's lineup

Ahmed is out of the lineup Sunday against the Cubs.

Ahmed has made six straight starts at shortstop to begin the season, but will give way to Chris Owings for the afternoon contest. After collecting two hits in each of the season's first three games, Ahmed has cooled off a bit, going 0-for-10 at the dish in his last three contests. A regular maintenance day was likely in order.

  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Cardinals' Aledmys Diaz: Back in the lineup

Diaz is in the lineup Saturday against Atlanta, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.

He logged an at-bat off the bench Friday, but he'll return as the starting shortstop for the second time this season. Diaz will bat eighth against Braves starter Julio Teheran.

  • Chris Owings SS | LAD

Diamondbacks' Chris Owings: Out of lineup

Owings is back in the lineup Saturday against the Cubs.

Owings was given the day off Friday against Chicago's Jason Hammel, but he'll return to center field Saturday and bat second versus Kyle Hendricks. Socrates Brito, who got the start Friday, will shift back to the bench.
