  • Braves' Chase d'Arnaud: Three hits including walkoff single Sunday

D'Arnaud got the start at shortstop and hit second Sunday, going 3-for-5 with the game's only RBI on a walkoff single in the ninth inning in a 1-0 win over the Rockies.

The 29-year-old journeyman finally seems to be establishing himself as a useful major leaguer after bouncing through numerous organizations prior to landing with the Braves. d'Arnaud's now hitting a respectable .263/.335/.365 on the season.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Cubs' Javier Baez: Batting leadoff Sunday

Baez will bat leadoff for the Cubs on Sunday against the Mets.

Baez will hit out of the top spot in the order for just the second time this season, as regular leadoff man Ben Zobrist is getting the day off Sunday. The young infielder is getting on base at a .381 rate since the start of June, so he seems like a logical choice for the job, and can also pack a power threat out of the top spot.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Nationals' Trea Turner: Late addition to Sunday's lineup

Turner, a late addition to Sunday's lineup, will bat leadoff in the series finale against the Pirates, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.

Turner was originally scheduled to get the day off Sunday, but after fellow infielder Anthony Rendon was scratched due to flu-like symptoms, he was inserted into the order. Furthermore, rather than just add him to the bottom, manager Dusty Baker will use him atop the order, a place he's been used twice since getting called up. So far this season, the 23-year-old has collected four hits in 11 at-bats.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Rockies' Trevor Story: Not in Sunday's lineup

Story is out of the lineup Sunday against the Braves, Jenny Cavnar of ROOT Sports reports.

Chalk this up as a routine day off for Story, who has started nine straight contests dating back to prior to the All-Star break. He collected a hit in each of the first two games of the series, but will give way to Cristhian Adames at shortstop for Sunday's finale.

  • Zach Walters SS | KC

Dodgers' Zach Walters: Gets recalled Saturday

Walters was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday.

With Trayce Thompson (back) landing on the DL with lower back irritation, the Dodgers were in need of additional outfield depth and Walters got the call. The 26-year-old has slashed .298/.346/.491 through 77 games with the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Cubs' Javier Baez: Stays hot with two-hit effort Friday

Baez commemorated his fifth consecutive start by going 2-for-4 with an RBI single in Friday's 6-0 victory over the Rangers.

The 23-year-old turned in yet another solid performance, notching his second multi-hit outing over the last three games. Baez was rewarded with a fifth consecutive start Friday and figures to continue seeing playing time as long as he keeps turning in efforts of the caliber that he's recently been able to muster.

  • Chris Owings SS | LAD

Diamondbacks' Chris Owings: Begins rehab assignment

Owings (foot) began a rehab assignment Wednesday with the Diamondbacks' Rookie League squad.

Owings has played in two games since returning to game action and is 1-for-5 with two runs scored. It's not clear if he will come off the disabled list for the Diamondbacks' first game out of the All-Star break Friday night, but he should not be sidelined much longer.

  • Marlins' Dee Gordon: Expected to begin rehab work Monday

Gordon (suspension) is expected to begin a 10-game rehab assignment with Triple-A New Orleans on Monday, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.

Gordon is eligible to rejoin the Marlins on July 28, and he will spend some time with the club's Triple-A affiliate beforehand in an effort to get back into playing shape. Gordon will presumably resume his role as the Marlins' regular second baseman when he rejoins the big league club, but Derek Dietrich has at least given the Marlins something to think about, posting an .813 OPS over 58 games since Gordon's suspension was handed down.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Cubs' Javier Baez: Will start again Friday

Baez is in the lineup for Friday's game against the Rangers.

Baez started the Cubs' final four games prior to the All-Star break, and he will make that five in a row Friday, as he gets the nod at second base with Ben Zobrist moving out to left field. Baez has seen the ball well in July, posting a .294/.368/.441 slash line through 10 games.

  • Ehire Adrianza 3B | LAA

Giants' Ehire Adrianza: Will begin rehab assignment Wednesday

Adrianza (foot) begins his rehab assignment Wednesday, playing as a designated hitter for High-A San Jose, San Jose's play-by-play announcer Joe Ritzo reports.

Adrianza will bat second and compete in his first game since April 14, when he fouled a ball off his left foot which resulted in a fracture. The 26-year-old was 3-for-10 with one home run and two RBI during the season for the Giants prior to his injury. Due to Adrianza just starting rehab games, he will likely not return to the team Friday after the All-Star break ends, but figures to be back in the majors shortly barring any setbacks.
