Owings (finger) will not be a part of Arizona's active roster for the NLDS against the Dodgers, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Owings has been out with a broken finger since late July, and although he's made strides in the last couple of weeks, he won't rejoin the club just yet. If the Diamondbacks were to advance to the NLCS, they will be able to reshuffle the roster, so there's still a chance he will return to the field this season.

Owings (finger) was kept off the active roster for Arizona's wild-card game against the Rockies on Wednesday, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.

It wasn't expected that Owings would be able to return from the 60-day DL ahead of Wednesday's contest, and it appears as though he will remain off the roster for the divisional round as well, in the event that the Diamondbacks collect the wild-card game victory. He's been partaking in baseball activities with the club's fall instructional league team, but needs more time to recover from a finger injury that has kept him sidelined since the end of July.

Diaz left Sunday's game with a strained left hamstring, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.

After emerging as one of the big surprises of the 2016 campaign, Diaz's demotion to Triple-A Memphis and prolonged stay in the minor leagues this season raise questions about the Cards' long-term plans for him. Paul DeJong usurped Diaz on the organizational depth chart, and it's reasonable to think that a utility role may be in Diaz's future if he remains in St. Louis.

Diaz exited Sunday's game against the Brewers early with an apparent injury, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Diaz appeared to tweak his hamstring while attempting to beat out a groundball in the bottom of the second inning. He was replaced by Greg Garcia between innings, which will put a close on Diaz's 2017 campaign. We'll have to wait and see what the specifics of his injury are.

Story is not in the lineup Sunday against the Dodgers, Jenny Cavnar of AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain reports.

Story snapped his seven-game hitting streak Saturday with his 0-for-4 showing and will now get the day off for the final game of the regular season. Pat Valaika will draw the start at shortstop, batting seventh.

Camargo is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Camargo will make his way to the bench for the final game of the regular season. Rio Ruiz will draw the start at third base in his stead, batting sixth.

DeJong is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

DeJong enjoyed an unexpected breakout campaign in 2017 but will find himself on the bench for Game 162. Alex Mejia draws the start at shortstop in his stead.

Arcia is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Arcia will get the day off during the Brewers' final game of the year. He'll wrap up his first full big-league season with a .277/.324/.407 slash line with 15 homers and 14 stolen bases in 153 games played. Eric Sogard will take over at shortstop.

Rojas went 4-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in the Marlins' 10-2 victory over the Braves on Saturday.

Despite a small rotator cuff tear in his shoulder, Rojas continues to make the most of his chances as the Marlins' everyday shortstop. He now has a .354/.420/.532 slash line in the month of September, giving him a strong case to be the primary shortstop next season even when J.T. Riddle (shoulder) is back in the fold.

Owings (finger) is taking part in baseball activities during the Diamondbacks' fall instructional league, but doesn't appear close to returning to game action, the Associated Press reports.

The Diamondbacks had ruled out the infielder for a return before the end of the regular season, and his continued rehab makes it unlikely that he'll play in either the Oct. 4 wild-card game or a potential divisional series that would follow. Owings' absence will lock Ketel Marte, Daniel Descalso and Brandon Drury in as the team's primary middle infielders heading into the postseason.
