  • Dansby Swanson SS | CHC

Braves' Dansby Swanson: Could be activated over weekend

Swanson (wrist) took batting practice on the field Tuesday and will do so again ahead of the Braves' game Wednesday against the Cubs, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports. He could be activated from the 10-day disabled list as soon as Friday.

After taking a week off to let his inflamed left wrist heal, Swanson was cleared to resume swinging a bat Sunday and has steadily increased his activity from there. If Swanson endures no recurring pain in his wrist during batting practice Wednesday, Braves manager Brian Snitker suggested the shortstop would likely head out on a one-day rehab assignment Thursday with Low-A Rome before returning from the DL over the weekend. Once Swanson is back in the fold, he should reclaim an everyday role in the middle infield, resulting in Johan Camargo sliding into a utility role.

  • Giants' Brandon Crawford: Day off against Reds

Crawford is out of the lineup against Cincinnati on Wednesday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Crawford will sit for the first time this month after going 4-for-4 with one double and two runs scored during Tuesday's victory. In his absence, Kelby Tomlinson will start at shortstop and bat eighth.

  • Orlando Arcia SS | MIN

Brewers' Orlando Arcia: Not in lineup against Arizona

Arcia is out of the lineup versus the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

Tyler Saladino will draw a start at shortstop for the series finale as Arcia retreats to the bench following an 0-for-3 showing during Tuesday's game. Through 38 games this year, Arcia is hitting just .213/.256/.295 with two home runs and 13 RBI.

  • Chris Owings SS | LAD

Diamondbacks' Chris Owings: Picks up start in center field

Owings manned center field and went 0-for-3 with a walk in the Diamondbacks' 2-1 win over the Brewers on Tuesday.

Though Owings was making his 20th start of the season in the outfield, it was the first time he received a nod in center due to A.J. Pollock (thumb) being unavailable. With Pollock expected to miss 4-to-8 weeks with the fractured digit, it's likely that Owings will have to get accustomed to frequent duty in center field as part of a timeshare with Jarrod Dyson (back). As the left-handed hitter of the duo, Dyson likely stands to see the larger portion of playing time at the position, but Owings' ability to play everywhere but first base and catcher should often afford both him and Dyson spots in the lineups against right-handed pitching. While Owings' versatility is a nice asset, he'll need to improve upon his weak .204/.268/.319 season line before fantasy owners can keep him active with much confidence.

  • Giants' Brandon Crawford: Four-hit game Tuesday

Crawford went 4-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Tuesday's win over the visiting Reds.

This was Crawford's eighth multi-hit game since the beginning of May, and he's raised his average from .191 on May 1 to .290 now. The shortstop has nine doubles to go along with three home runs and 15 RBI.

  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Back in action Tuesday

Rojas (wrist) is in the lineup Tuesday against the Dodgers, Eric Stephen of TrueBlueLA.com reports.

Rojas suffered a bruised wrist after being hit by a pitch Sunday. He left the game, but the issue was apparently a minor one as he's already back in the lineup.

  • Braves' Johan Camargo: Day off Monday

Camargo is on the bench Monday as the Braves take on the Cubs.

Camargo had started every game at shortstop since Dansby Swanson (wrist) hit the disabled list in early May. He's hitting just .196 through 19 games, but his .339 on-base percentage and .392 slugging percentage are both respectable. He can probably blame BABIP luck at least somewhat for his low batting average, as it sits at just .216 despite a 43.6 percent hard-hit rate. Charlie Culberson will start at shortstop in his place Monday.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Nationals' Trea Turner: Pops fifth homer Sunday

Turner went 1-for-3 with two walks, a solo home run, a stolen base and a second run scored in Sunday's win over the Diamondbacks.

After a slow start in the power department, Turner's now launched three homers in the last week to give him five on the year. Hitting at the top of the Nats' order is limiting his RBI opportunities -- all three of those recent home runs were solo shots -- but otherwise the 24-year-old is supplying fantasy value across the board, and Turner's career-high 14.8 percent walk rate is giving him an additional boost in OBP leagues.

  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Suffers bruised wrist

X-rays on Rojas' bruised left wrist were negative Sunday but his immediate availability remains uncertain, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.

He left the game against the Braves after being hit on the wrist by a pitch, finishing 0-for-1 with a walk. Rojas was replaced at first base by Derek Dietrich. The Marlins have an off-day Monday, and Rojas should be considered questionable for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.

  • Nick Ahmed SS | TEX

Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Finds bench Sunday

Ahmed is not in the lineup Sunday against the Nationals.

Ahmed will receive a day of rest after making 16 straight starts for the Diamondbacks, a stretch over which he slashed .246/.281/.443 with three homers and seven RBI. Ketel Marte will take over at shortstop with Chris Owings manning the keystone.
