Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Goes deep for 14th time
Crawford went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 9-2 loss to St. Louis.
Crawford was the lone bright spot for the Giants in an otherwise lifeless showing against starter Miles Mikolas. The 31-year-old needed exactly one extra game (four plate appearances) to match last year's mark of 14 homers. Crawford's .256/.322/.397 slash line is right on par with his 2017 marks, as he's providing another season of modest production at the shortstop position.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Rockies' Trevor Story: Out again Sunday
Story (elbow) remains out of the lineup Sunday against Arizona, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
Story will miss his fifth straight start after hurting his elbow Monday. He avoided a significant injury and appeared to be in contention for a start Sunday but will wind up sitting for at least one more game. Garrett Hampson will start at shortstop again in his absence.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Cubs' Javier Baez: Swats 34th homer
Baez went 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run and three RBI in Saturday's 8-3 win over the White Sox.
Baez's two-run shot in the first inning off Lucas Giolito gave him 34 homers on the year, putting him one behind Matt Carpenter for the NL lead, while his 110 RBI pace the Senior Circuit, six ahead of Jesus Aguilar. The Cubs' infielder remains in the thick of the MVP conversation as the team looks to lock up another division title.

Trea Turner SS | PHI
Nationals' Trea Turner: Homers, steals base in win
Turner went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, a stolen base, and a two-run homer in a win over the Mets on Saturday.
Turner cleared the fences for the first time since Sept. 3. Between then and Saturday, he struggled to a .250/.354/.309 line. However, he now owns a 10-game hitting streak and has stolen five bases in that window, giving him an MLB-best 41 steals on the year. His speed will likely keep him in the conversation for a first-round fantasy pick in many 2019 leagues.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Rockies' Trevor Story: No timeline for return
Story (elbow) may not return over the weekend as initially expected, Nick Groke of The Athletic reports.
The Rockies are concerned with bringing Story back too soon, so they'll likely elect to hold him out for another day or two. Manager Bud Black stated there's no timeline for his return, so he'll be considered day-to-day until further information is provided regarding Story's availability.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Rockies' Trevor Story: Remains out Friday
Story (elbow) remains out of the lineup Friday in Arizona, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
Previous reports held that the Rockies hoped Story could return at some point over the weekend series. That's still possible, but that return won't come at the start of Friday's contest. Garrett Hampson will start at shortstop in his absence.

J.P. Crawford SS | SEA
Phillies' J.P. Crawford: Dealing with shoulder soreness, available to hit
Crawford is dealing with shoulder soreness, though he is available to hit, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
The issue apparently bothers Crawford more when he throws, leaving him to hit and run off the bench should an opportunity arise. Given the youngster's .214/.318/.384 slash line through 43 games with the big club this season, he likely won't be manager Gabe Kapler's first choice should the Phillies need a pinch hitter.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Collects three hits
Crawford went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Wednesday's loss to San Diego.
Crawford was dealing with a balky knee earlier this month, but he has since started nine of the Giants' last 10 contests. The 31-year-old has gone 10-for-35 with a home run and a steal over that span, and he is set for everyday duties to close out the season.
