Padres' Allen Cordoba: Rebounding in 2019

Cordoba went 12-for-29 with two doubles, a triple, six runs, three RBI and five stolen bases for High-A Lake Elsinore last week.

The 23-year-old had a torrid week for the Storm, as he continues to rebound nicely after missing extended time last season due to a concussion suffered in a car accident. After hitting just .206 over 164 plate appearances in the California League last season, Cordoba is slashing a respectable .303/.351/.407 through 248 plate appearances so far in 2019.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Dodgers' Corey Seager: Makes second rehab appearance

Seager (hamstring) went 0-for-2 with a strikeout Sunday in his rehab game with High-A Rancho Cucamonga.

In the second game of his rehab assignment, Seager started at shortstop and played two innings in the field before he was removed as part of a planned defensive substitution. He'll likely log at least a few more innings in the field in the final game of his assignment this week before returning from the 10-day injured list when the Dodgers begin their second-half schedule Friday in Boston. Chris Taylor will be most in danger of losing out on regular work once Seager is formally reinstated.

Crawford started the last two contests and returns to the bench after going 2-for-7 with a double, a walk and four strikeouts. The 32-year-old was on the bench for four straight games earlier in the week and may not have a strong hold on the starting job at shortstop. Donovan Solano enters the lineup in his place Sunday.

  • Orlando Arcia SS | MIN

Brewers' Orlando Arcia: Not facing extended absence

Arcia (shoulder) is expected to be healthy after the All-Star break, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Arcia is managing some left shoulder pain from Saturday's night collision with teammate Keston Hiura, but he appears to have avoided a serious injury. According to Rosiak, Arcia has yet to be fully ruled out for Sunday's game. Prospect Mauricio Dubon was called up to bolster the Brewers' shortstop depth, but Tyler Saladino enters the lineup while Dubon is still in the process of joining the team.
