Paul DeJong SS | DET
Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Slams eighth home run
Dejong went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Cubs.
Dejong took Kyle Hendricks deep to lead off the third inning Saturday. The shortstop provided some power in his second game back after missing an entire month with a rib injury. This season has been a struggle for DeJong, who is slashing .176/.275/.382 in 149 plate appearances. The 27-year-old has eight homers, 18 RBI and 19 runs with a pair of steals in 37 games.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Back in action Sunday
Crawford (lower body) will start at shortstop and bat cleanup Sunday against the Nationals.
Crawford was withheld from the starting nine for the second half of Saturday's doubleheader while recovering from lower-body cramps, but he was able to make an appearance off the bench as a pinch-hitter. The veteran apparently felt well upon reporting to the ballpark Sunday, so he'll step back into his normal starting role in the infield in the series finale.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Scratched with cramps
Manager Gabe Kapler said that Crawford was scratched from Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Nationals because of cramping between games, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
This update from Kapler explains why the veteran shortstop was a late scratch from the nightcap. The skipper noted that Crawford could get the day off again Sunday if the issue persists through the night, so he can be considered questionable for the series finale at this point.

Francisco Lindor SS | NYM
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Swats sixth homer
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a walk, a two-run home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Padres.
His first-inning blast off Joe Musgrove gave Marcus Stroman and the Mets' bullpen all the offense they would need. Lindor seems to have found a groove at the plate, batting .314 (16-for-51) over the last 13 games with seven extra-base hits, including three of his six homers on the season.

Pablo Reyes RF | SD
Brewers' Pablo Reyes: Records second steal
Reyes went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs scored in Saturday's 7-4 win over Pittsburgh.
Reyes reached on an error and scored in the second inning. He added a leadoff single in the fourth, stole second and scored again on a Christian Yelich three-RBI double. The versatile Reyes is slashing .256/.256/.302 with no home runs, one RBI, six runs scored and two stolen bases across 43 plate appearances. The 27-year-old frequently serves as a defensive replacement.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Scratched from Game 2 lineup
Crawford was a late scratch from Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Nationals but is believed to be available off the bench, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
It looks like the Giants simply decided that it was best to give the veteran shortstop the second half of the twin bill off, as he'll be able to come off the bench if the situation calls for it. Mauricio Dubon will start as shortstop and bat sixth.

Paul DeJong SS | DET
Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Hitless in IL return
DeJong (ribs), activated from the injured list earlier in the day, went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in a loss to the Cubs on Friday.
DeJong was able to log a full game at shortstop in his return after a four-game rehab assignment at Triple-A Memphis. His season-long struggles continued, however, as he now carries a .172/.269/.359 slash line over 148 plate appearances.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Records fourth steal
Crawford went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Friday's 1-0 win over Washington.
The shortstop got aboard with a single in the fourth inning and moved to second on Donovan Solano's single. Crawford then stole third, but he was left on base when Mike Tauchman struck out. The 34-year-old Crawford has put together one of his best seasons with a .261/.351/.551 slash line, 14 home runs, 41 RBI, 35 runs scored and four stolen bases across 202 plate appearances.
-
Jorge Mateo SS | ATL
Padres' Jorge Mateo: Notches steal
Mateo went 0-for-1 with a stolen base as a pinch hitter in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Mets.
Mateo reached on a fielder's choice and stole second in the eighth inning. The 25-year-old hasn't seen much more than utility usage yet. He's slashing .205/.247/.288 with a home run, five RBI, seven runs scored and three stolen bases across 78 plate appearances.

Corey Seager SS | TEX
Dodgers' Corey Seager: About two weeks from rehab stint
Seager (hand) is about two weeks away from beginning a rehab assignment, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Per Juan Toribio of MLB.com, Seager has begun hitting tennis balls while swinging with both hands and could transition to hitting baseballs within the next few days. The shortstop's rehab assignment is expected to take about a week once it begins, so he remains on track to rejoin the Los Angeles lineup in early July.
