Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Heads to bench
Crawford will sit Saturday against Arizona, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The Giants are all but officially eliminated from postseason contention, though the 35-year-old shortstop still finds himself playing a heavy role, starting nine straight games prior to Saturday's contest. Thairo Estrada will take his spot this time around.

Geraldo Perdomo SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: On bench Saturday
Perdomo isn't starting Saturday against the Giants.
Perdomo is in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak in which he's slashed .409/.417/.545 with a home run, four RBI, three runs, a stolen base, one walk and five strikeouts. He'll get a day off while Sergio Alcantara starts at shortstop and bats ninth.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Braves' Dansby Swanson: Hits solo shot
Swanson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-2 win over the Mets.
Swanson's homer came in the sixth inning and put Atlanta up 3-1. It was his 23rd homer of the season and his sixth in September. The shortstop started to regress over the last month, going 25-for-111 (.225) and 33 strikeouts. During that span, Swanson's batting average has dropped from .286 to .276 largely due to a lack of consistency. Despite his recent struggles, Swanson still remains a top fantasy shortstop with his combination of power and speed.

Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: First career extra-base hit
Tovar went 1-for-4 with a double Thursday against the Giants.
Tovar doubled deep to left field to lead off the sixth inning, though he was ultimately stranded there. It was the first extra-base hit of his career, but he does have five knocks across his first 18 at-bats.

Marlins' Joey Wendle: Base knock in return
Wendle went 1-for-4 in Thursday's 4-2 win over Milwaukee.

Turner and Freddie Freeman completed a double-steal in the sixth inning. The theft was Turner's first in 13 games and his 26th of the year. The shortstop is up to a .300/.345/.471 slash line while adding 20 home runs, 97 RBI, 98 runs scored, four triples and 39 doubles through 154 games this year.

Jon Berti 3B | CHC
Marlins' Jon Berti: Breaks out of funk
Berti went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Thursday's win over Milwaukee.
After going 0-for-18 with seven strikeouts in his previous four games entering Thursday's contest, Berti returned to form with two base knocks. He showed off his speed as well, with one of his hits being an infield single, after which he swiped second base for his 38th steal of the season. He is batting .179 with one home run and five stolen bases in 84 at-bats in September, but perhaps the multi-hit effort is a sign he will close the season on a high note.

Miguel Rojas 2B | LAD
Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Still out of lineup
Rojas isn't starting Thursday against the Brewers.
Rojas has gone just 2-for-18 with two doubles, a run, an RBI and a strikeout over his last five matchups, and he'll be excluded from the lineup Thursday for a second consecutive game. Joey Wendle is starting at shortstop and batting seventh.

Marlins' Luke Williams: Sent down Thursday
Williams was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Williams saw minimal playing time for the Marlins in recent weeks, starting just three games since the start of September. He'll lose his spot on the active roster after Joey Wendle (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Thursday.

Joey Wendle 2B | ATL
Marlins' Joey Wendle: Reinstated from injured list
Wendle (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Thursday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Wendle dealt with left hamstring tendinitis for the last week and a half but has been running for nearly a week and will return to game action after a minimal stay on the 10-day IL. He should reclaim his job as Miami's primary third baseman over the final week of the regular season.
