Casey Schmitt SS | SF
Giants' Casey Schmitt: Remains out Tuesday
Schmitt (arm) will sit Tuesday versus the Padres, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Schmitt will miss a second consecutive contest after being hit in the arm by a pitch Sunday versus the Dodgers, but considering he was able to log two plate appearances in Monday's extra-inning win, the 24-year-old seems to be on the cusp of a return. Brandon Crawford will draw another start at shortstop and bat seventh against San Diego.

Joey Wendle 2B | ATL
Marlins' Joey Wendle: Sitting against lefty
Wendle is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Blue Jays.
Jacob Amaya will cover shortstop and bat ninth with left-hander Yusei Kikuchi toeing the slab for Toronto. The left-handed-hitting Wendle has drawn only eight plate appearances versus southpaws this year.

Ronny Mauricio 2B | NYM
Mets' Ronny Mauricio: Back in action at Triple-A
Mauricio (ankle) returned to the Triple-A Syracuse lineup Wednesday and has appeared in each of the affiliate's last five games, going 8-for-21 with three home runs, three walks, six RBI, four runs and two stolen bases during that stretch.
Mauricio had been tending to a bone bruise in his left ankle coming out of a June 10 doubleheader, but he missed only a few days before he was cleared to resume playing. The 22-year-old switch-hitting middle infielder has immediately resumed raking at Syracuse and is now holding down a .325/.368/.546 slash line across 291 plate appearances this season. In addition to seeing time at both second base and shortstop, Mauricio has also picked up three starts in left field, giving him another potential pathway to playing time when the Mets likely bring him up to the big leagues at some point later this summer.

Geraldo Perdomo SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Will lead off for time being
Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said Monday that Perdomo will remain the leadoff batter "for a little while," Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports. "I want to stay with it and we'll see how it goes. We're just looking for somebody to see pitches and hand it off to the next group of guys."
Perdomo batted leadoff for the third straight game in Monday's win over the Brewers and the fourth time in the past six games. It's unclear if Lovullo plans to have Perdomo rest atop the order against both lefties and righties, as the switch-hitting infielder has often sat out against southpaws. The one time Perdomo batted leadoff against a lefty was when he started at second base for a resting Ketel Marte, who has been the primary leadoff batter against southpaws. Additionally, the Diamondbacks have some desire to maintain a role for Nick Ahmed, who normally starts at shortstop against lefties.

Francisco Lindor SS | NYM
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Knocks in five runs Monday
Lindor went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run, two total runs and five total RBI in Monday's 11-1 rout of the Astros.
Lindor had two big hits in the contest, belting a three-run homer to right field in the third inning and knocking a two-run double in the ninth. The five RBI were the second most he has notched this season, trailing just his seven-RBI performance against Oakland in mid-April. Lindor has homered in two straight contests following a rough six-game stretch during which he went 1-for-17 with six strikeouts.

Casey Schmitt SS | SF
Giants' Casey Schmitt: Unavailable Monday
Schmitt (arm) is not in the starting lineup Monday versus the Padres, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Schmitt exited Sunday's victory over the Dodgers early after he was hit by a pitch and will now be forced to miss at least one contest. The team got good news Sunday night when the 24-year-old's X-rays didn't reveal any structural damage, so he is considered day-to-day for the time being. Brandon Crawford will draw the start at shortstop and bat seventh in the series opener with San Diego on Monday.

Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL
Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Goes on paternity leave
The Rockies placed Tovar (personal) on the paternity list Monday.
Tovar was removed late in Sunday's 14-6 loss to Atlanta after receiving word that his wife went into labor, so his move to the paternity list comes as little surprise. Expect the rookie shortstop to miss the entirety of the Rockies' three-game series in Cincinnati to open the week before likely rejoining the team Friday for the start of a homestand. Colorado called up infielder Connor Kaiser from Triple-A Albuquerque to replace Tovar on the 26-man active roster.

Francisco Lindor SS | NYM
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Celebrates Father's Day in style
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run, a second run scored and a stolen base in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals.
The shortstop missed his first start of the year Saturday after the birth of his second child, a healthy baby girl, early that morning. Sunday, Lindor returned to the starting nine and got the Mets on the board in the first frame by crushing a Matthew Liberatore fastball deep to left field. Lindor appears to be close to breaking out of his season-long malaise -- over his last 11 games he's batting just .212 (7-for-33), but that comes with two doubles, three homers, three steals and a 7:7 BB:K. The window for buying low on the 29-year-old could close soon.

Jacob Amaya SS | ARI
Marlins' Jacob Amaya: RBI, steal in debut
Amaya went 1-for-3 with an RBI, a run scored and a steal in Sunday's victory over the Nationals.
Amaya opened the scoring in his first major-league at-bat, driving in Nick Fortes with a fielder's choice in the second inning. The 24-year-old Amaya then added his first stolen base later in the frame. Amaya was solid in Triple-A this season, slashing .278/.346/.472 with nine homers, 35 RBI and a steal. He should work on the weak side of a shortstop platoon with Joey Wendle in the short term.

Geraldo Perdomo SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Bats leadoff again
Perdomo started at second base, batted leadoff and went 1-for-4 with a run scored in Sunday's 12-3 loss to Cleveland.
For the second straight game, Perdomo was atop the batting order against a right-hander, while Pavin Smith was dropped down to the six hole. Perdomo, a second-year shortstop, has posted better numbers across the board and apparently will continue on as the leadoff batter against righties after Josh Rojas and Smith handled the role before Perdomo. A note of caution, however, is that Perdomo's .346 BABIP suggests a correction is coming. MLB's Statcast pegs him among the bottom one percent in expected average and slugging as well as hard hit rate and average exit velocity.
